I guess you are the same guys that use Ipod mixers and call yourself DJs.
i spend most of my money on music, i own several hardware synths, effects and mixers. but that doesn't really compare anymore, you have to compare other software companies with the abes.
and i see other software companies do what i ask for.

and for your information, i call myself a dj because i own technics sl1210 mk2 and a vestax pcm-05 pro II and started making rap music in the early 90s... so i know what hardware did cost back then.
You never said Live is too expensive, that wasn't targeted at you. 'DJ Voyetra' Said Live's too expensive.

never mind, that whole topic just got me off a bit, so i took that as an offensive comment and replied like a smart-ass myself ;)
whenever i read in my rss feed from rekkerd.org (like today) about offers from the abes it seems to not include me, though i own live for years and spent much money alltogether from the first purchase with all updates.

ok, enough now, i got my answer and try to not think about it anymore. ;)

I definitely know the feeling. I go off on people every now and then. I start feeling like a lot of people on this board never even touched vinyl. I got pissed at some kid for asking people on the board to warp his song for him so he could beat match it.... I'm thinkin damn, what would this kid do if he had to drag his finger on a record to beat match while making sure he didn't confuse the monitoring speakers with the room speakers.

Everybody likes a good deal, I'm with you on that, but when this kid starts talkin about too expensive.... Man, my decks and mixer alone cost me $1600 not including the coffin. And with the price I've paid for my hardware studio, I could have bought a cheap car.

I know this is not hardware vs software, but when I've spent about $15,000 in audio gear and hear some dude say that $500 is too much for a program that can blow most of my old gear out the water..... Man!

one thing that will continue to keep my loyalty is being able to mail the abes with any questions/bugs etc and to get an answer within a few hours most of the time (rather than days/weeks) - real genuine desire to help and fix issues and look after their customers - better than any periodic freebie in my opinion

yes, the ableton support is good afaik. i only needed it twice in 5 or so years... and it was very fast as i just called berlin hq (best option living in germany and having a phone flatrate) ;)

i have to say that the support of other companies where i purchased software was good, too.

Of all the things I feel cheated by, Live is the least of them. Value for money. My health insurance went up 15% this year! I got Live 7 Suite which had drum racks, good piano, electric piano, synth, 808, 909, , 606, and CR78 sounds, a killer grain delay and beat repeat. Sequences, records and arranges in a non linear way. I then upgraded to 8 Suite for maybe $150, which included group tracks, a good multiband compressor, a looper, a vocoder, drawn waveforms in operator and a new sound library. I have single plugins that cost more, guitar pedals that cost more. This is not a commercial, I don't kiss ass, I'm not a fanboy. I just know value when I see it. There may come a day when I don't see good value in a Live upgrade, but it's not here yet. But what do I know, I still buy people's records.

+1 on hardware, well said. It's good value compared to other software as well. Most companies do not have good support either. I look for deals like everyone else so I don't have a problem with the topic though.
Now is there a new soundset for sampler available for d/l?

FYI watch out with that during beta testing.... it could take weeks.... if it does, don't complain on the forum or you'll be fanboyed. apparently thats quite acceptable.

next time i'm late for work i'm telling my boss that i was beta testing.

i didn't get a voucher, so it wasn't because of this thread ;) - i guess it was his recent update.
