Actually, therein lies the problem... there are many schools of thought on that. Never underestimate the power of people to become bigoted pieces of shit.
The Quran is actually a bunch of poems... It even has verses that challenge you to gather all the poets in the land and see if they can top it. Its like the ultimate Arabic battle rap... Love it or hate it all you want. I think its a beautiful work of soulful art. Same with the Tao Te Ching and Bhagavad Gita. Proverbs in the Bible is pretty sweet too.
