i think this news is tremendous... an Iapp based on this could have the same effect as iMovie...

Intergration with Logic would blow away any competition

In Protools you still can't load a TDM effect without stopping play!

Combine this with Apple's upcoming IBM power 4 based CPU's as well as well as Final Cut and realtime High End compositing, 24p hd cam's and you have a complete production studio that can rival the best.... and through the internet we will be able to bypass cable stations and record companies and own are own future...now excuse while i go record some field audio with my prototype iPod with audio recording 8)

Appletone Live!

I have both, Mac at the studio and a PC laptop.
I got the PC while I wanted to play with Traktor but after playing Live!
the Traktor is parked in the HD...

Lets face the truth;

MAC IS FOR MUSIC, ART AND ALL OTHER CREATIVE THINGS YOU MIGHT
DO WITH A COMPUTER YOU CAN LOVE!

PC IS FOR WORD PROCESSING,word processing, word procesccssing AND
ALSO SOME INTERNET... IT CAN NOT EVEN EAT COKIES WITHOUT A
DOCTOR TREAT EVERY MONTH.

All the tec we use [as firewire scsi and more] was invented and shared by Apple.

I don't mean to hurt any pc users, just want them to try the Mac, we all just want to make music!

You will all see that under Apple, Logic [and Live?] will bring us new tools
that will be CLONED to other platforms.

Hope you all happy, keep things in a good mode and right proportions.

Welcome to Appletone! Stop the menu strobes.

I've got a phone call from Bill. He was blaming about why he wasn't mentioned in the whole discussion. He thought that everything - even the whole music software industry - is already owned by Microsoft. But it's not. There is a tiny little...

BTW. Yesterday I saw Elvis and some UFOs.

Bernd thanks for the confirmation.

Goodluck on this new adventure... I think this combination is going to bring about great things for music creation.

Can't Wait!!!

Ok, I have been asked to 'officially' comment on this to put an end to the confusion. Apparently this topic is too hot to joke about! So:

1) nobody has acquired ableton;

2) ableton has acquired nobody;

3) we will keep supporting Windows, Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, leaving the choice of operating system up to the user.

DON'T WORRY

Gerhard

Well if I were Apple

Ableton
Native Instruments
and Waves

Would be the obvious companies to own....

whether it happens or not who knows... I think this would be great for Ableton personally as well as being great for Logic owners but we can only hope...
