I have to say though, all of that is detracting from what, for me, should be the real worry for Aus. Which is, do they have 20 wickets in their bowling attack?
If I was Ponting, that would be troubling me big time.
I think the series doesnt depend on Freddie's fitness and the unavailable KP, but this one simple fact:

6 out of 8 first class matches there this season have been draws, plus the weather is going to be shite.

The head groundsman there has been moaning as they don't let him leave any grass on the wicket meaning shite for bowlers and great for batsmen. So they've had practically no joy with wins there in first class matches, just counties trying to get their batting points up with four day pointless draws.
Very difficult for Aus to force a result here, which is only good news for England!
Spongy mess. Odds on no play today methinks.
