I am not afan of NIs gui design at all, to me it's dead ugly... But technically they do have some A1 products, battery, kontakt, traktor... Massive, absynth... All more then decent stuff... kontakt for example is still the best standalone/3rd party softsampler out there, i say.
They need to get a tastefull designer that is all.... AhHh... and a smart advertising agency... Otherwise they are a great and in some respect leading software company...
My 2 cents.

Re: NI's new DJ interface
I like some stuff in Reaktor. I liked Spektral Delay. I love some of the sounds in the Battery Library, Battery itself (that green thing with the boxes) never did it for me.
Too many of the things in Komplete remind me of the Roland Grooveboxes of the 1990's. Look at this crazy contraption... It'll take a lifetime to figure out how to use it and the logic behind it... but if I push this button it plays something that sounds like an almost komplete song! It's like having an instant Orbital button! And if I can find the preset thingy, I can change the premade preset/song! Most of it just doesn't seem to nurture creativity, it's the opposite IMO.
Now Pluggo on the other hand was the right price, the right GUI, and it always makes me feel wildly creative. ANd now my beloved Pluggo is dead and being partially coded into MfL.
It's just my opinion.

Re: NI's new DJ interface
I love NI gear cuz it looks so good with my mac
BUT becuase nothing looks better with a mac than NOTHING but a mac i just use the headphone out and it soundz awesome. I really like the mac speakers in my laptop because of how crisp they are, so most of time i just use a mic i painted white to mic the speakers of my laptop.

you´re mixing things up here. you´re talking about the NI audio 8 dj interface which indeed has rca cinch outputs (except for the headphone out which has 1/4")SubFunk wrote:yeah at over 150 dollars and trs connex and firewire...
this thread is about the upcoming audio 2 dj interface. the audio 2 dj doesn´t have rca cinch outputs, it comes with two 1/4" output channels only.
not true, i´m not talking about NI hardware in general, i´m talking about the audio 2 dj interface which is THE topic of this thread.beats me wrote:I get the impression you are somebody who would never buy NI hardware because of your perception above regardless of how much praise they get, similat to some people who will never buy a Mac.
by the way, i also work with ni software (reaktor and kontakt). i give kudos for NIs audio engines, that´s for sure ...
i don´t like advertisements saying what converters are being used (in this case cirrus), that doesn´t reveal anything.
