DJ AM dies
Re: DJ AM dies
thing is, on the inside, there are personality types that don't see what they're doing until it's too late. for many, just to see that it's too late is a major epiphany. let alone admitting it's too late to one person, let alone starting treatment, let alone getting away from the friends that enabled the use to begin with. then there's the journey for the rest of your life knowing you're an alcoholic or xxxx addict FOR LIFE. it never ends.

Re: DJ AM dies
i am not trivializing other peoples love for him. no doubt they did. but his dumb ass did so much crack he died and left those people here to grieve for him. that was his choice though.
i can smoke a pack of cigs, drink a bottle of scotch, do two lines of coke and bump some ritalin every single day...but i don't cuz i want to live past 40. he chose the other path, and hes dead. dont feel bad and dont call it a disease "he was powerless to overcome"

YEP. And if you were genetically pre-disposed to addition, you would have done it, and done it again and again until you hit rock bottom and got treatment or died.jsg4z wrote:not saying im following their 'guidance', just that they kinda publicized it first.
look, i can choose to have more beer or crack, not more cancer. there must be a difference. about ten years ago, at a party, someone handed me a heroin needle...i handed it back. one is a choice, the other is a disease. if you start crack and cant stop, you are retarded.
Seriously, do some research before judging.

Sorry, not a mindreader, couldn't possibly know which person in here you're talking to besides the people you quote.Tone Deft wrote:weak, totally not what I was writing about. reading comprehension fail.john doe by choice wrote:Tone Deft wrote: lame ass interweb hate. who fucking cares if you don't like him?
That sounds suspiciously like lame ass interweb hate, there, TD.
I didn't even know the guy *(can't say that I personally don't like him)*, I just don't think he was talented, and I don't think the media's use of his death to gain ratings is worth my attention. Also, never said anyone should care. Nice troll, though.
troll? no, I'm talking truth, you're really desperate for any kind of comeback. any fuckwit and jump on any topic and write "I hate this topic." so fucking what? it's poor taste and will only start an argument. let people enjoy discussing what they want to celebrate. yeah yeah, I'm being a prick, but it's a prick being a prick to a prick, two wrongs don't make a right but three lefts do.
it's a thread with people spreading good vibes about someone and you have to step in and shit on the guy. what the fuck is so special about your life that you can spit on his grave?
here I am arguing with myself, just to throw off the hounds.
Also, not desperate for a comeback - if you actually read what I wrote, you'd see that I said "don't wish death upon anyone", "don't know the guy personally", and I don't see myself trying to start an argument, and if that was the case, no one's biting anyway. Yeah, I said I didn't think he was talented - amended that post before your last post. Yeah, I said I would trade him for my cat who died - I'd trade you to, don't know either you or AM, but loved my cat, wish she was alive, and I'm sure that AM's family would trade any of us to have him back. It's a matter of love, we all want what we loved and lost back, it's human nature.
I did, however, make a valid point about scumbag media using the death of someone to sell news, and I do believe such a thing to be bullshit. I also said I would have no idea who he was if it weren't for TMZ - I know nothing about him, don't listen to his tunes, can't name a single album he made, and would be asking who he is if it weren't for some stupid media assignment. And still, it wouldn't matter.
As far as
I'm pretty sure that's a common practice on your part, but I don't care, it's funny sometimes, and your comment above doesn't make this thread any better, either.Tone Deft wrote:"any fuckwit and jump on any topic and write "I hate this topic." so fucking what? it's poor taste and will only start an argument,"
Anyway, like I said, don't wish him dead, it sucks for his family, it sucks to lose anything if you love it, I know, you know. But I'm not going to say that the way the media is manipulating it isn't bullshit - they want shit like this to happen to sell news, and it looks like more than a few people are buying it.
Anyway, don't care to argue with you, TD - you'll win, no matter what.
RIP humanity - we will all miss you, and miss greatly those we've lost to reasons we'll never truly either understand or accept.
Oh, wait, disregard all of that, Tone, I just realized you were talking to beats me.

I sincerely hope that none of us die of anything other than old age, but if any of us do - I hope that people remember you as the person that you are and what you have contributed to your loved ones lives, not just as a disrespectful person who posts on message boards.
I was never a fan of DJ AM, but I am a huge fan of humanity.

So you haven't heard much of his music, therefore not knowing his level of talent, but you think no one should mourn his death because of how untalented he is.john doe by choice wrote:Known amongst famous people for banging Nicole Ritchie? He also banged Nicole Ritchie for a spell and I'm sure some other talentless celebs I'm not aware of.aisling wrote:I heard about this, RIP. I also heard about the plane crash, but If I have no idea who he is or what his music is am I like totally "out of the loop". Was he some superstar that everybody on the planet knew about except me? I guess it is off to you tube for some schooling
Talented? That's news to me.
I logged into myspace for the first time in months, and there's a message about paying respect from that dumbshit tom...I also don't wish death on anyone, but mourn someone who wasn't talented and got famous banging rich snobs? I'd have traded him for my cat who was hit by a car last year in a new york minute, RIP Juno. Not to be a dick, but so many more influential people passed in the last year, just none of them were famous for surviving a plane wreck (and banging rich idiots). It's a shame what's important to the media today. If anything, people should be disgusted that TMZ is using AM's death for page hits, and nothing more - TMZ would gladly have posted pics of AM puking in front of a bar if they could get any, it's all about publicity, and ratings, and the worse shit is, the more rags they sell. Pathetic. Better off mourning the death of sensibility in the media - RIP, Edward R. Murrow.
EDIT: I'm not going to change what I said above, but I will amend it, as I have never really listened to his music, and can't really speak on the real level of his talent. I wouldn't even know of AM if I hadn't been assigned to watch TMZ for a media class during a time where several episodes had stories about Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie (worst assignment ever). The only thing I ever learned about the guy was the method he used to work his way to the top, by jumping on the coattails of rich people who aren't really known for doing anything, and no, I can't say that such a method merits my respect.
Just an FYI, he was very fucking talented.... and what you are saying comes across as crude and cold-hearted. Bravo internet jerk person.
Re: DJ AM dies
I never hope for any human being or animal to die but thousands of people die every day and still the world never miss's a beat. It sucks he died but not worth me to mourn over.
Addictions are hard to overcome but they start with a choice. He made his.

I didn't say that he shouldn't be mourned, and since I admitted to not knowing anything about whatever talent he could have, I can't say that I think he is untalented with any honesty - go take someone else's posts out of context - maybe you should try reading everything I wrote, next time. I'm not going to bother repeating myself for someone who can't be bothered to read everything I said, obviously you have no clue, if you can't take everything into account before talking trash.

I read every single word you wrote. Twice even. No assumptions here. You're being an internet jerk, callously disregarding someone's life after they have died. That's cool though. Whatever. No skin off my back. get a grip man, you disregard millions of peoples deaths every day. simply because they will never know you, you will never know them, and they live in another part of the world where celebrity's deaths aren't turned into media sensations.sesshin wrote: I read every single word you wrote. he had his second chance at life, and he squandered it. the sad part is that he squandered it with crack, not that he died. get some perspective.

Adam was an extremely talented DJ, very influential in the LA club scene, one of the first people to pioneer digital DJing, and not to mention just an all around great guy. So when I get on the internet and read someone talking shit on him because he's a celebrity, someone who had never known him or heard his music before, I'm going to point out how that's a dickhead thing to do.
Yeah people die every day who I don't know. I don't get on the internet and talk shit about them though.
