3. Continued Black Ops in any number of Middle Eastern Countries.
4. Continued Unashamed and Unabashed Support of Israel (blah blah blah rhetoric to the contrary notwithstanding.)
5. Illegal wiretaps and a myriad of other Bush Era Homeland Security Bullshit still in place and going strong.
6. Gitmo - Still open for business and taking new guests every day.

Obama travels the world and offers Mea Culpa. The world and douchebag US citizens buy it hook, line, and sinker. Peace Prize is awarded.

But the real differences between Bush and Obama on these critical issues?

Bush killed in the name of the Lord. Obama kills in the name of......uh....uh....uh *sound of crickets*

Once more for the road:
The real differences between Bush and Obama on these critical issues?
all of those things were not his choice...he does not think he is an emperor like bush did. If it were entirely up to him none of those things would be in place. but for any of those to change theres a million miles of red tape and a congress and propaganda news outlet to feed upon his errors

I'm not here to say obama is awesome, nor that he is deserving of the nobel prize, just that he is "failing" because of the complex mess left unto him.
He is trying to appease to both sides because of the divide in congress, and upon doing so, even his compromises have compromises. Then they don't mean anything and are STILL fought against by the opposite side.

If there were no republicans in this country obama would not be having those problems. thats a definite.

I think it's too early to be giving Obama prizes for peacemaking...
mainly... because I can't think of one area in the world where his help has resolved a conflict...
(although maybe in the future ...but that's a BIG maybe)
correct me if I'm wrong.

yea too early for sure
he has done little things, "patched up" with russia, lifted a ban on stem cell research....but other than that theres not much

im pretty sure they gave the prize to him just to piss off republicans and conspiracy nuts

in which case, nice move!!

All I could think at first was "What for?"
Apparently the prize-granting committee is saying it was more for encouragement than for accomplishment....he was nominated 12 days after getting elected? Man, they should give Oscars for movies that are only in production too! And when you enroll in University they should give you a diploma after your first semester...you know....for encouragement. Whatever. I lost whatever respect I had for the peace prize.

if the best they can do is give it obama under those kind of circumstances then it realy doesnt say much for how much peace making is going on in the world right now.

he got the nobel peace prize because he's still kept a piece of his ass after becoming the first black president of the united states of america, they'll probably give him a grammy, an academy award, and a I wouldn't want to be you sticker as well.

the strange thing about obama yesterday, today, and tomorrow will always be that people are more pissed at
him than george bush's last decade of hell., ok so only 8 years of hell, point being even on music forums openminded creative people are screaming louder about obama being just more of bush than they did about bush being his own damn self.........hmmmmmmm :?

Yea, any Repub that goes off on Obama's 'bailouts' and czars' and 'Constitution trampling', I just have to ask....where was your self-righteous indignation for the last 8 years?!

But yea, Obama screwed the pooch on wireless wiretaps, the Patriot act, and basically not rolling back more of what Bush accomplished. Basically he is allowing the 'cement to dry' and Bush policies become set in stone. Inexcusable.

Wow!! I often don't understand why more people cant see the same. Obama and Neuro-Linguistic programming is more like Orwellian Double Speak.
Vote for Pedro.

meh, there was the same impotent rage with Bush, but he was so much immeasurably more of a douchebag that stuff like this barely warranted any attention.

My humble experience in the United Kingdom (being an 'island'/petri dish example of the 'capitalist free west') from the mid to late 80s can serve as a microcosm for the sad demise of the free thinker since he had the audacity to rear his head in the late 60s.....

I was part of the post-pistols anarcho punk movement at the time; ALF, CND, Class War etc...where the emphasis was on peace understanding, tolerance.... but above all the ability to see through the 'spin' and think for ones self, stand up and be counted and try to make some changes....

The threat from us was clear to the establishment, Stonehenge free festival was made illegal, bands were literally banned for playing as the lyrics pointed out the flaws in our laws and societies ....criminal justice bill was passed and the the rest is history...

The former activists have gone underground (for now) .......but we're still there....waiting for the rest of the world to open its eyes......

Don't be a sheep...

Leave the conspiracy theories to the crank sites and just use your own eyes and logic... its not hard.

Right now I'm, going back to waiting, watching and listening

I think the a ableton forum deserves a Nobel prize for the largest amount of TLDR political threads ever.

Or at least a Guiness record.

I feel the same way. I used to think the Nobel Peace prize was something really amazing but then I came to realize that it's not much different than the MTV music video awards.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
