You're all wrong.
It's written on the poster in large black letters.
Nov22 is St Cecilia's Day. A day of musical celebration.

It's basically fasting before the feast.

my god you people are dense.

Oh and if you thought this idea was stupid, and seeing as no one's mentioned it, Bill Drummond is the gobshite who burned a million quid.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K_Foundati ... llion_Quid

Drummond's former protege Julian Cope was unimpressed, claiming that Drummond still owed him money. "He burned a million pounds which was not all his, and some of it was mine. People should pay off their creditors before they pull intellectual dry-wank stunts like that."

somebody should have maybe offered them to donate that money to a cause instead... their 'statement' was worth shit...

heh, ya. They got as far as they did in the record industry by blagging, they thought they could blag the art-world too - FAIL. shame they alienated a chunk of their existing fanbase in the process.

ethios, that link is messed up ? doesn't work so good for me...
this one's better, if anyone wants to see the documentary about the money burning
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_GjZ7i4 ... re=related (part 1 of 5)

I recommend it, if only to see for yourself the stunning lack of artistic or intellectual merit in their money stunts.

actually, to say the lack of artistic/intellectual merit is stunning is giving them much more credit than they deserve. but you get what I mean.
