I wish I would have D/L'd .09 as that was the last version without the M4L code embedded in it. There was a way to get directly at the previous installers typing in the url into your browser. Does that still work? What is the one for 8.0.9?

So you reckon that the M4L code would add weight to the application or make it buggy? Interesting. But I assume all updates from now on will have that code embedded, so will you wait for, say, 8.1.7 or something?

Great update.

But could you please fix the bug with Fabfilter plugins. There's a glitch in changing the Q's of all the filters in their products (Pro-Q, Twin2). Live 8 doesn't remember the settings. No problems in Live 7.0.18.

Thanks!

I had the REX crashing bug when I was using the BETA.

Sent a report to Ableton. Figured they would have resolved this MAJOR issue, but no. It seems marketing and scheduled release dates take precedence over solid, stable software.

are you saying a fixed version of 8.1 replaced the original download link after it was posted?

OK, my complicated sessions, even without plugins, crash live repeatedly and do not load. I have sent log file. no response. This is an unusual one from you all at ableton, have to admit.
I am mac pro quad intel 8 gigs ram. I am having to stick with 8.04 for now.

A little response from ableton team would be nice

OMG when I read this here I get the feeling that Live 8.1 is very unstable and full of bugs... When I read this forum in generally I have the feeling that Live 8 must be a piece of crap... the only working feature is crashing and Max4live seemed to be a great piece of shit.

I don't want and need Max4live in Live 8.1 and i don't want hundreds of non working useless instrument presets: The "full" version of Live seemed to be a crippled version for selling more products, but the basic functions getting worth. They don't fix VST/AU issues because they want to sell the Suite. If you want a half stable 8.1, you have to buy Max4Live... If you want a stable Live Suite with Max4Live you have to buy the upgrade to Live 9... Money, thats what they want but they give us unfinished, buggy software.

only my impressions when I read in this forum.

wow.. wish there was a better announcement of this.. perhaps in this 8.1 release announcement/download thread.

why is it even 8.1 still if they've re-released a bugfix version already? shouldn't it be 8.1.1 now?

guess it's time to download another 600mb.. oh joy

I'm not certain if that's the cause of the crashing that's been reported with 8.1 but 8.0.9 was the last non-M4L version. I am on 8.0.8 now but I need 8.0.9 to run the Ableten free live paks. Or will they work on 8.0.8? I don't want to run a version targeted for M4L until(and if) I'm ready to buy M4L. Which I don't plan on doing until more content is developed for it.
