OK OT but I wonder do straight girls pretend to be lesbians for laughs like straight guys pretend to gay?
Doubt it, considering for women it's not near the social taboo to mess around a bit with the same sex,
and 99% of men think at least cute girl/girl action is hot.
Re: [OT] Mad props to Ableton forum users!
yes, they do. get out much? they're called fauxsbians.

Who's pretending?
I thought all this talk might really lead to something...

Yeah.ethios4 wrote:Who's pretending?

My reaction to the coworkers I've had over the years when they asked or insinuated, made gay jokes etc. was that I wish I was gay.
Seriously, with women I never have long relationships anyway, so why not have the easy pickings you see in the gay community?
Horny? the park is right there bidding you on! and no hurt feelings afterwords.
Real lesbians always complain about "fake" lesbians, or in other words bi girls that like guys more, but like some strange every now and then. What I was talking about is straight girls who act 'gay' to tease each other, not to arouse men, be edgy etc.

Yeah, there's some kind of interesting difference there. I was reading some weird Norwegian black metal racist pagan writings a while back and this guy was talking about how the traditional Norse pagan religion allowed for lesbianism, it was actually encouraged, but forbid male homosexuality. There were of course overtones that if you become a Norse pagan racist you might get to see some hot girl/girl action.

He's a sad case of Sid Vicious syndrome, believing the hype you surround your music with. Funniest thing to me is not all vikings just went an slaughtered everyone, there were plenty of trading posts and amiable settlements, but that doesn't play into the butthurt pouty racist black metal scene.
Ex lead singer for Gorgoroth, Gaal is gay, and I really, really wouldn't want to be on his bad side!
Look up the documentary "True Norwegian Black Metal" on youtube! Heavy guy.
Good documentary btw, pretty interesting stuff. Gaal doesn't fall into the whole spoiled, rich, narcissistic brat archetype
most people have of Black Metal musicians and fans at all.
Re: [OT] Mad props to Ableton forum users!
Hahahaha, yeah Burzum, exactly!

I've seen that doc....Gaal was fascinating...those guys doing the interview in the mountains were about to shit their pants!!
I was a bit disappointed when I got the video of their infamous Poland show with the crucified naked people and goats heads. I expected that guy to be a total freak as a lead singer, but no.
Black metal has never been as dark as the darkest gangsta shit. Like Immortal Technique's Dance with the Devil. Man, that track is dark!
I read :Lords of Chaos" recently too. I think those guys can't decide if they want to blow Varg Vikernes, or write it all off as satanic teenage schenanigans.

Yeah he's more about being 'strong'. I like him though, made him much more human finding out he was gay.
Yeah Black Metal is more like spooky, or epic sounding, at least the good stuff. Dark IMO is hard to pull off, some gangsta stuff, and some early creepy industrial tracks. Hamburger Lady by Throbbing Gristle, or some tracks by Velvet Acid Christ. BTK by Suicide Commando, or Street Hassle by Lou Reed.Black metal has never been as dark as the darkest gangsta shit. Like Immortal Technique's Dance with the Devil. Man, that track is dark!
Real, kill yourself dark? Anything by the Swans really, but Failure, Universal Emptiness and Raping a Slave are over the top.
Plain disturbing goes to Hatesvile compilation, especially "Let's Hear It for Violence Towards Women".
Dance with the Devil is a little like that. Great track.
The writer plays in a nordic/scary fascistic sounding band himself, so yeah I agree. Varg seems like a total idiot to me, Emperor were cool, and I actually like Gorgoroth, pretty fun stuff. Hilarious fact! ex bass player is a school teacher for a day job!I read :Lords of Chaos" recently too. I think those guys can't decide if they want to blow Varg Vikernes, or write it all off as satanic teenage schenanigans.

Yea, way to really be an individual, right? I imagine he gets a lot of shit for from some people in the scene. Apparently he put a guy in the hospital at some huge metal festival they were playing for some comment about his being gay.Machinesworking wrote:Yeah he's more about being 'strong'. I've been loving Enslaved's latest album, Vertebrae, for months now. Great rhythms and the distortion on the guitars is dialed back to let the stacked dissonant harmonies really come through. Awesome album.

I dunno if I would say individual, just less cold blooded somehow. In his community (metal) it's still a rough one for most people to handle.ethios4 wrote:Yea, way to really be an individual, right? Sucks he's still assaultive, europe seems more forgiving about that, in the states he'd be back in prison.
I'll check it out, I like a lot of metal, but it's a huge genre to sort through for the quality stuff.I've been loving Enslaved's latest album, Vertebrae, for months now.
