If you don't need a limiter someone else does. The world isn't turning around you, you know..

+ 1 on limiter.
I notice you didn't say anything about vocodor

That doesn't make sense.
neither does 150% or 101% or anything over 100%
100% means all in.
I'll give it 110% is just an expression.
you can say billion or trillion a million times and desensitize people to what that really means, but that doesn't change the meaning. The same is true with percentages. CPUs don't make profit in and of themselves the last time I checked. if so I'm getting a 800 MHz AMD and using it at 600% because thats way faster than your piddly little 3.2 GHz
the screen, the meter, the manufacturer... someone is lying.

Yeah, I normally don't use vocoder myself. But I realize that Live wasn't made for me alone! And it's undoubtedly a great and unique music creation environment! And the bugs will be eventually ironed out. I had a number of important live performances this year with Live 8 without any problems.

Why is anyone suprised at this point.....This is the third thread that i have read today about how bad ableton 8 live sucks. My review of ableton 8 is that it was releasesed about a year too early according to some folks who understand what it takes to program something like ableton. They seem to think that alot of the "Updates" are usually superficial and do not attemtp to fix the problems. Even though I complain in the reason chat rooms about not having vst and all that debate, but I would rather role with jst reason since I know it never lets me down. I love the ableton 8 IDEA, but because the program crashes on everyone that is really using the program (not jst firing a few clips)
Maybe if we all complain all the time MAYBE ABLETON WILL MAN UP AND FIX THE PROBLEMS
In a K induced Haze (the old K kind not the special K kind ), but an Asian spizz can sometimes bring me out! If ya don't get it, ya never will.

Don't know what's going on, but I also had the rebuffering issue. Maybe ask the tech support directly.
also for live gigs that are supposed to last more than 1 hour its easy to have a few hundrte clips..even when each track has just 12...
20 tracks a´12 clips = 240

i agree that there have been some issues with L8 and i'm guilty of making a few harsh comments too, but
everyone is way too broad of a statement.
remember, people call support, write angry rants etc. when something is broken. they don't call support and say "man your product is great" too often. i think if everyone who was having little to no issues with Live 8 posted at the same time you'd be wading through quite a few posts before you could find a grumbler. its human nature. reason and Reason don't have shit to do with this.

come on.. they get payed for the hazzle...
and they are just support and cant do nothing.. only the management can change the things here..
or is the one to blame... either for pushimg the developers to hard with the overerly fast integration of max for live...
probably saying no to some wise suggestions how to handle new file formats for cost reasons or hiering or fireing the wrong people... we never know..
only thing we know is that live 8 was a crash monster from day 1...and it kept beeing a crashmoster for a scandalous long time...
when it finaly was getting better max for christmas came with a load of new problems..and again a new file format..
Live 8.1 cant acces my libary of clipswithout loosing the loop and speed settings!!! do you know how much extra work this is?
Sorry... THIS SUCKS..
and every user that feels this way should express that feeling... and not to the unguilty support staff..they should do it here...
its called politics... if the public gets angry the gouverment reacts.. never before...

Or I could have had folder tracks and grooves on their own.

there was nice improovements in live 8.. nobody questions that or would have upgraded..130 euro is not nothing...
its a third of a complete logic with dozends of quality plugs and a very good audio performance... a good sample editor a good midi editor and a thing called enviroment that rivals a bome midi translator.. a full fetaured sampler and gigabytes of useless content...
besides..with snow leopard logic is running like a breeze now... its fun again...
so... features are not the point... performance is the point...
beside that the handling of live never was very comfortable in relation to the big daws, we hve many new problems now...
when i play something on the keyboard it would be nice if the sequencer would play it back at the position i have played it for example...
is this too much to ask for?
sorry ..with a performance like that i dont think one second about spending extra money for max or future updates...
its realy a waste of money... logic is fine... i was able to do records with it before life came up...
and i never had a logic crash on stage..with a clever programmed enviroment logic is not bad for live use at all...
however..we wait for the next update... now after the max for christmas is out we maybe can hope for fixes...
its however a problem when people dont report bugs when they come along them... some discussions in the past have shown that many users just lived with the crashes without saying a word ...
if bugs only apear on certain machines we cant expect teh ableton team to find them all by themself

i think you said a mouthful right there. since 8.1 seems to be the pooch's screwed arse, the need to have the new porch working will bleed over in to repairing the house... maybe then we can finally have a party.

+1
and why doesn't ableton tell us which setups are prefered with Live? Or a list of the sanctioned bits.
wtf

hi guys,
I do agree, 8.1 really suck on 10.6.2.
it was running ok on 5.8 before u upgraded 2 days ago.
My question is, where I can download a copy of 8.0.9?
