Hi All,
I'm only new to DJ'ing & Producing (as is obvious at my soundcloud
http://soundcloud.com/Killmono)
But in regards to the Launchpad, i run both the Launchpad & Nocturn & i have been able to make a loop change colour by modifying the Velocity?
Perhaps this helps, if not (o well i wasted 5seconds of your time).
Also worth noting, when using the "USER 1 - Mode" AKA the Drum Rack, insure you have your Launchpad Outputs set...
I thought i'd throw down some notes as i've just started mixing, but it took a while to even get to that stage with 'two controllers' that both want to use "Automap".
When DJ'ing / Playing Live:-
1.] Turn your Launchpad Outputs OFF(Your session view will remain active) but your USER 1 mode will not, that's why in the demostration videos they do not light-up...
2.] Getting the Drum-Rack to work, There are a few youtubes out there, but the long and short is you need to channel your midi from your Launchpad Input then Output to your Master, simple enough?
3.] Midimap an (Overdub?) sorry my terminology is terrible, but you need to Overdub to Jam whilst playing.
4.] If using a Nocturn, don't bother with effects on the USER 2 / FX Mode on the Launchpad, it will only play with your head & get your messed.
5.] If your big on your EQ's i recommend running these Nocturn, not the launchpad...
Ultimately, when DJ'ing i use the drum-rack to show ppl i'm actually doing something other than launching clips & samples off the pad, but its really only to add beats to 'beatless mix vocal - plateau' points i have in the sets.
------------
Sorry to take it off the colour topic, i will revert back now.
The way i modified the colour, was when i made a Visual Metronome on the pad to assist w/ playing live as i use alot of samples & i really hate having a metronome in my headset, so i just change the metronome to every 8th beat (2bars) , just to assist in the crossfades.
BAH! could go on, but didn't want to ninja the thread. (VELOCITY on Loops (When Output Active) = Colour Change = Try playing around with Velocity for colour, then using another effects to remove its functionality?).
