Everything is groovy now. Soon I shall have a Padkontrol in my rig & my fingers will make happy dances in which I shall sequence their movements with harmonious drum & percussion plugins...And if my fingers tire & fail me, I shall continue with my toes.

If a kid can learn to paint pictures with his feet/toes then BY GOD I WILL LEARN TO DROP MADD BEATS WITH MINE!!

I think I just created a new stage act...

Hmmmm if your 100$ piece of kit happens to break while in its warranty and its issues is something that happens to be covered you still have to pay 30 or dollars to ship it back. Im just saying the pad sensitivity shouldnt be a factor in anyones decision making, at least from my point of view.

But pad sensitivity has everything to do with expressiveness and versatility. Try playing melodies of sustained notes on Akai's MPC/MPD pads. You can't do it easily because they were designed for percussive use. Padkontrol is just way more versatile in terms of expressiveness.

So you mean there's no warranty anyway ?
If pad sensitivity isn't a factor of choicefor a pad controller, then I guess you paint your rythm parts with the mouse ?

I can adjust my akais pads to be 100 times more sensitive than any stock padkontrol.

You can always reset your padkontrol to factory default settings to ensure that Scene 1 you're using is set up correctly.

Live's MIDI preferences should look like this:
In Preference > Midi Sync tab choose "PadKontrol" as the control surface. Then for input choose port 2.
midi in TRACK turned on in from the pK for port 2: "PadKONTROL Input ("MIDIIN2 (PadKONTROL))
midi out TRACK turned on to the pK

You should now be automapped to the 16 pads of the Drum Rack as you scroll up and down.

I actually prefer to use farmpad with my padkontrol instead of using it as a control surface.
You can still control Drum Rack and make all kinds of custom scenes and do things like mapping every button and knob to any type of MIDI message. It also allows you to get padkontrol's touchpad to work just like a kaoss pad. And I like that you can have scrolling texts on the led display for the name of each scene.

Most people won't go through the trouble of "modding" a controller that is limited by design when you can get the padkontrol which already does it out of the box.

Uhh, maybe the pads will be 100 times more sensitive than ITSELF before, but I honestly doubt you've compared the two objectively to come to the conclusion you did.
