Thanks for showing your true colors - Anti Americans
I agree with DJDemo about the Anti-Americanism.
At this point Forge and Special Ed are only emberassing themselves. This post mind you will be responded to with the same flipid, fanatical and re-read trite that they think/toss up all day. I could almost type the response they are so predictable. Be also very sorry for them because they don't have a more appropriate forum for communication let alone an audience to express their views. This is what they do and it's pathetic and extremely sad.
I appreciate the criticism's and opinion's of any individual coherent enough to hold a conversation without promoting murder/violence/assasination and elimination of alternative views. I know the majority of people reading and overseas are capable of such conversation, sadly some of the small mislead and confused reside here. I largely enjoy eveyone elses comments however so don't get me wrong.
As for the pre-emptive strike comment. Yes I would say Hitler is largely analogous to many dictators. He simply had the chance, and it didn't come from pre-emptive action.
These people practice verbal dhiarrea at it's finest.

Re: Thanks for showing your true colors - Anti Americans
There's quite a lot of this sort of discussion going on on other forums too at the moment but not as well discussed as on this one imo.DjDEMO wrote:Well, I'm suprised Ableton has allowed this to happen.
Many of you guys have shown your true colors. I cannot believe the amount of anti Americanism going on here.
The funny thing is, the Europeans consider themselves to be much more highly educated and intellectual, yet they are stupid enough to assume we are ALL stupid. To make general blanket statements like that is amazingly stupid. Its not all of you, but it is a large number. Disgusting.
I came here looking for help with a great program, from fellow musicians all over the world, and I have to read this hate. Amazing. Obviously it's not all of you, but a large enough amount that I wont be coming back.
On a personal level I'm pretty depressed at the state of the world and sometimes like to discuss it with other people in other countries, whatever their political persuasion. I've learned quite a bit about some of the people who posted here over the last few days, and for me, this forum has been more enlightening that many of the TV politics debates that have been showing.
DJDemo, don't ditch this forum just yet on the basis of the last couple of weeks posting, I'm sure that it'll settle back into music topics pretty soon now all this election stuff is over.
Nobody here is anti American, some of us are just a bit frustrated at a few world leaders (Tony Blair particularly, in my case) thats all.
peace to all, (ain't that supposed to be the point?)

I dont feel the least bit 'embarrassed' - I'm in fact pleased that so many people have been stirred up by all this - it's only the 6th of November, not even a week since the election, if it had already disappeared from everyone's minds this quickly i'd be pretty disappointed and disillusioned with the human race as well.Sevaels wrote:At this point Forge and Special Ed are only emberassing themselves. These are important issues and this is the forum I normally while away the boredom at while I'm supposed to be working - and I've been keeping to the OT ones, belittling us by saying we're 'embarrasing' ourselves is just a way of undermining opinions - I haven't got personal with anyone - (but in fairness Special Ed has used some pretty inflammatory words!) But at least he's fired up over something important and not trying to impose moral high ground issues like other peoples gay marriage and abortions.

i am not embarrassed.
im quite aware that i say incendiary things. but at least i dont politely say how i condone bush and support his war that blows up children.
also, im allowed to talk to american pigs like the pieces of shite that they are. (obviously not everyone in the u.s. is a pig). they reason being, i was born and raised in the u.s. i see these assholes like d2 or huey or sevaels or djdemo for what they really are. they are the bottom feeders of humanity. its not speculation. its honesty. im not going to be a blind patriot and defend these people just because we are from the same country. i got the insight on these types of people living in the u.s., therefore i can say whatever the fuck i want to them or about them.
i think it really pisses them off more when i say it as opposed to someone from another country, because they know im from their country saying it. im not an outsider, im inside of it here, it makes what i say all the more real and all the more true to them. i expose them. they know that to, but they will live an eternity in hell before they admit it.

One thing I'll say though is you'll never persuade anyone to see things differently with the kind of words you've been using - I cringed at it and I know where you're coming from - all they're doing to you is expressing their opinions which for whatever reason is what they actually believe so you'll be doing the world a much bigger favour trying to make your case with intelligent debate. Calling people Pigs and pieces of shite wont make them listen to you. But then I thought I was being civil enough and still got lumped in as 'embarrassing myself'special ed wrote:i am not embarrassed.

btw, being civil here is what has enabled gwb to do whatever the he wants. we spent so much time not speaking up here, even if what we had to say was the vulgar truth, that we basically just lost our country to facists, and now the life of every living creature is threatened. american politics is just about telling people what they want to hear, and sugar-coating lies. now we got 60 million zombies that think they are right and they want to rule the world with their idealism. its the united police state of america. i think given the current status quo, im actually entitled to say the incendiary things i say. at least no one is dead from my bitter words as opposed to the many dead innocents from ones sweet lie.
Ed you definitely special, I can feel your pain, frustration when your home country got hijacked by stupid and insane. But dont let yourself be dragged to their hillybilly white trash level. Those Bush supporters from this forum are not the "enemy", they are not stupid, perhaps naive or simply having different life experience that led them to believe what they believe. It is lack of communication, information that led to that whole mess. After all you are American and though at this very moment you may not like it , they your brothers, only with them can you people bring real change. The very fact of being involved in music is a kind of evidence of not being brute. Where to start, definitely in your community, and it means not just your friends in your home town but also other music makers. How bad you may imagine them to be the very fact that they spend their time with Ableton and not in Rifle club or breaking Jewish graves, trowing stones on Arab Deli etc makes them more suitable to begin the communication. Going to the extremes- freaking out, getting scared, angry, frustrated etc etc is exactly what Osamas, Bushes and whatever their names want. no vale la pena, it is not worth it, you got to start somewhere and here it might well be.
hm, just for fun, to make you relax a little and smile, this is a french bullshit, don't take it too seriously, it's just "funny" and "ironic" (I think all country have puppets like that isn't it?)... I hope you will laugh and will not take it "badly"...
Sorry for the bad video quality, I don't find a best one

i'm sorry, but i can't let this one go through:DjDEMO wrote: I have one question. To those who think Iraq was an innocent country attacked by the US and UK...tell me this. You think Saddam did nothing wrong? You think he did anything to avoid this war? He didnt comply with UN resolutions for years. That alone justified war.
the US hasn't hesitated to get rid of the persons that "upset" them in the past (remember Che Gevara, Salvador Allende, JFK?). and they did it on a personal basis, like "you upset me, i get rid of you". but this time they sent a whole army just to get one man?... why? does "oil" mean something to you? just open you eyes man: saddam hussein is out of the picture...
and then 2nd point: how could you "punish" someone who doesn't comply with UN resolutions by not complying yourself with it? the UN didn't want the US to attack Irak if you remember well...
finally, it seems evident to me that attacking new countries creates more insecurity than leaving them alone. so i don't think bush did something to prevent further attacks on the US. on the contrary.
i know this has been discussed 1 billion times here, i didn't have a go until now. now it's done... i'm feeling better.
