It was really funny that the best thing I got out from the vid was not at all what she was doing with the pads. It was in the youtube comments, about an app called TouchDJ. Hit the AppStore and Blam! I am mixing it up on my iPhone NI TRAKTOR 1.0 stylee!!

Whoever tipped the app in the comments, big up! TouchDJ is like iPhone on crack :DDD My pals with nokias are going to be even more jealous tee hee hee

Also, for getting into DJing, an iPhone + TouchDJ app is a helluva lot cheaper intro setup than what she's selling ;)

BTW, they are selling quality XLR outputs for ipods/iphones/ipads. Do a little searching and you'll find it.. at 60 euros it's looking like W1N to me, prolly going to get one soon from Thomann..

I don't have a problem with people using what ever to make musical sounds, mix, DJ, create music....blah blah blah...

But I guess this gal needs to understand her gear.

"no computers, no synthesizers..."

I guess she forgot that the iPad is a computer and the app she pulled "sounds" up with synthesizer.

OK, sure enough, I don't really see what's so hot about using two iPads instead of Traktor or Live, but it's just a little
too sad how predictable the comments here are. There's nothing more pathetic than men getting all defensive and digressive
whenever a girl has some technical insight.

Sa'ma'ah? Feeling threatened? Even in this improvised demo, she shows more skills than you have? Is that it?

Wankers.

Whilst talking with some conviction, her physical demonstration showed she had absolutely no 'technical insight'.

Her voice was so horribly annoying that I couldn't watch past 2 mins.

"Her physical demonstration"? I don't know what you're talking about. This wasn't about her mad skills; she was just demonstrating
some apps, FFS. As far as DJ-ing with touch screens goes, I think it's going to look awkward no matter who's doing it, and
the iPads haven't even been out all that long.

Who fucking cares?
Did you even pay attention to the fact she said she never had DJ'd before this?
it's a youtube video of a girl showing off ipads that she thinks make a good set up.
Not a technical display of her DJ skills. She mainly shows off applications that are available now for people to mess with.
She even states that the whole thing will be sloppy as she's not cueing etc.
Seriously, one of the reasons so few girls do music at all is because men act like total dicks about it constantly if they even show a little pride.
This has played out dozens of times on this forum, some chick posts a video of her being excited and dudes make any excuse to knock her.

One funny part to this IMO is if biker bartender dude in the background is any indication her crew would wipe the floor with any of you nonces who were capable of walking
up to her and telling her what you post here. <--- of course that would never happen though.

That is the major faux pass IMO, but the rest of you comment on her DJ skills, which again she pointed out she's just learning.

Reminds me of a friend who once claimed he would fuck whoever he had to rise up as a DJ. Also the same guy who rails on a female DJ here saying she just fucked whoever she had to get the gigs she does. Fail.

Seeing as I took the time out to watch her video, I guess I'm allowed to have an opinion. Freedom of speech and all that.
If she says that she has "never DJ'd before", then what the hell qualifies her to call this a "good setup"??
Thats like me saying:
Ive never flown a plane in my life, but the Airbus Beluga is the best plane to fly. And you and your crew all best believe it.

If someone wants to recommended a specific setup and then go on to demonstrate it, I'd expect them to demonstrate it properly - and effectively.
If Nissan announcing its new super-car that runs on water, but then in test drives all the wheel fall off, no-ones going to classify the car as a success are they? Would would it be any different in this instance?

Ecactly ^ take the 2 iPads out of this setup and no one would be mentioning this (imo) regardless of skill level
