He would fry up fish and french fries for dinner and then strain the oil and put it right in to the gas tank. The mileage was just as good. It was in High Times because they were going off about how cheap and easy hemp oil is to produce. Anywaaaaay, to make a long story short, Exxon made him rich and that was the last we heard of that. Apparently they have a room full of filing cabinets with similar innovations gathering dust.
ya i just did a trip from Austin,TX to Louisville Kentucky on mostly veggie oil
in my friends ford 350
our full cost was about 1/4 what it would have been
but its not as easy as filling up at the pump..
we had a 40 gallon w.v.o. tank and then a 55 gallon drum full
plus some water issues..
traveling on veggie can a pain but if you research and find people with clean veggie oil for sale you can get it for $1 to $2 a gallon..
one note though is it is not that easy
you need to spend up 5k on a conversion kit and also you have to find a veggie oil source plus be able to clean it or you'll be dropping allot of cash on fuel filters
so veggie oil is for diesel engines
and
Electrolysis is for gas engines
i don't know much about Electrolysis Car Kits
but i'm going to look into it soon
....
you wouldn't believe how few people know about this oil spill
and i live in central Texas.
i get close to tears thinking about it and all the destruction this could cause
hell hurricane season is right around the corner..
imagine what a nice oil filled storm surge is going to do to the cost line
i mean its not like their isn't plenty of oil in the gulf already from past spills but this one is freaking massive
everyone needs to do anything they can to stop supporting this way of life.
dude humans have lived for thousands of years with out such a strong oil dependence.. we can do it again.. its not that big of a deal..
if urban developing was based around people using public transit, walking, biking and all that.. those little small cars that people make fun of.. well that is the vehicle of the future.. i mean why the hell do people need hummers
i have never seen anyone driving a hummer that needed a vehicle of that caliber.
the same with suv's and big trucks.. ya some people need them for work, family, what ever but maybe about a 5th of those on the road actually need to be their.
i love city life and one of the things i love about living in a city is that i do not need a car. plus Austin is blessed with a ton of farming with in 30 miles. i have been doing a work trade at a local C.S.A. farm to get my produce and its great.
in a consumer based society the consumer actually has tons of power but it is controlled by marketing.. but if people would realize that they can make a difference by how they spend their dollar they would realize their power as a consumer. we can bring corporations to their knees and take the money out of politics. it is really this simple.. do not buy the products that fund the hate.
ya oil is the tuff one but you can cut your oil consumption in a large number of ways not just from driving your car less.
