I'm pretty sure he was just fucking with everyone. :P

Or am I wrong? Beats, did you really want to hear ableton users top 50 soft synths broken one/a few at a time into multiple posts?

If so, I'll add one:
Scanned Synth Pro - Was 99 bucks, now pay what you want.

It's the middle of the month. It was time to post a thread in General about recommending softsynths. I'm just doing my part. The world really can't have enough must have softsynth recommendations. :)

Keep them coming! Thanks.

Omnisphere - the only softsynth I own that consistently appears in my tracks. The sound palette is huge.
Synth Squad is nice but Omnisphere gives you so much more (better FX, variety of filters, rhythmic modulation envelopes, sound sources).

I recommend you check out the following:

1. Omnishere
2. Waldorf Largo
3. FXpansion Synth Squad
4. U-He Ace

All great synths at varying price points. Sound quality is top notch in all of them.

Synplant is great for unique sounds and textures.

Great to layer with another synth as well to give it some real wtf was that!
