If you have spare ins/outs on your interface, then it's not expensive these days to pick up an analogue delay or two, then there's the Boss RE20 which is fabulous. The trade off being that you can't tempo-sync (Although unless you're going for a rhythmic effect, shouldn't ever use it, unless you want the repeats lost in the mix) and no automation, but the plus side is being able to ride the feedback control yourself, which is next to impossible with a mouse or controller.

Oh, there's some seriously cool stuff in that pack! Not all that dubby perhaps, if you're in to old school dub. But good stuff nevertheless.

Kingdubby looks good but apart from using the 3 presets that come with it it seems unusable. I cannot get the knobs to move!! anyone having the same problem. I'm on 8.1.4.

you need to open the map editor (midi) and map the controls to a hardware controller, such as a nanokontrol, bcr, etc...

it has a 'gui glitch' in ableton, you can't use it via the mouse, but the sound quality and possibilities to create some serious dub action are awesome, not just for being a freebee, though.

The GUI bug is fixed in the current Live beta (8.1.5b2). BTW, you can actually move the knobs with the mouse in previous versions too, but you have to double click (and press) them.

@ slirak, thanks for the info, i am still on 8.1.3, 8.1.4 is causing me CPU trouble.

Yep Thanks, The double click thing works for me. I love it. I have been using Gs-201, Analog Delay and King Dubby all together. it makes for some fun dubs!!

Some nice tips here. I seem to have read about a new nice spring verb reccently, but I cant find it.. Anyway, whats the best vst spring reverb that does not tax the cpu to much? Reaktor or Guitar Rig is a bit heavy..

And regarding subtle to extreme feedback dub delays: what do you think about UHE More feedback mashine, compared to building your own feedback loop dub delay inside Live with native plugs? Cpu usage is one good reason to go native, but can you get it to sound as good?
