Re: How about listing Plug's you use:
Like most people I went overboard the first year I got into computer music/DAW recording. Lessons learned about software; only buy what you need to achieve a certain sound, try out demo's to see how they fit for you, avoid software gearlust, save your money for hardware.
Always: Fabfilter Pro Q (eq), Cytomic The Glue (mix buss compressor), Waves L1 Limiter/Ultramaximizer (should probably upgrade).
Frequent use: Soundtoys native effects bundle (love 'em all), Omnisphere (w/ Trilian samples), 2C Audio Aether reverb, Fabfilter Pro C, Stillwell Audio's The Rocket.
Occasional use: Soft synths; Fabfilter Twin 2, Waldorf Largo, NI's FM8, Arturia Minimoog & Moog Modular, Xils Lab PolyKB, u-he ACE.
TRacks Vintage Comp 670 & Program EQ1, Stillwell Audio's 1973 eq, D16 Devastor distortion, Sonic Charge Microtonic, Fabfilter Simplon/Vocano 2/Timeless 2, Michael Norris Spectral Magic AU plugins.
I also use fantastic M4L plugins that people have made like fp.Granulate by eltnet, Monolake's grainfreeze, circular doppler & distance, Christian Kleine's CK bundle, and many others. There are so many great devices that people have made, many for live performance & control but I tend to like things made for sound design. Hopefully someday I'll take the time to learn M4L.
My next gear purchases will all be hardware. First off I need a nice mic preamp like Empirical Labs Mike E or an Avalon 737 w/ the Babyface mod. Eventually I'd like to own a Chris Lentz guitar, a Machinedrum, and a full size synth in addition to my DSI Tetra. By then I'll need a new computer, so we're talking thousands (and thousands) of dollars. This is an expensive habit/hobby. On second thought, maybe people should stick to software

i can do so much with this little list.
i forgot to add that i also use the free sir convulsion reverb
im sure the next version of live will have a convulsion and i will switch to that.

i also forgot about this free plug in i found that works like waves vocal rider.... cant think of the name right now but its great.
i haven't been able to make much music this last summer, and being a total left brain, its really starting to bother me.
i love making music!
