The way I see it is, and I don't know if anyone else has had this thought, is that the task manager shows you the amount of CPU resources Live can claim for itself, what Live shows is how much of that amount it is currently using at this moment. That explains the discrepancies.
No, System Idle takes up the slack not used elsewhere, Task Manager shows how much is actually used by each process.

And if you actually read my post I'm referring to Live's CPU meter showing the percentage of the
allocated resources being used.

I see. That's an interesting point. I did not know programs could have more CPU resources allocated to them than they use. Thanks for educating
I wonder why Live 4 would demand a never-used 75-90% CPU resource overhead compared to 2-5% for Live 3?
