we all could live with a few more user options..there is more than one workflow and prefference how to do music.. therefore daw´s have preference settings..

when you look at live´s prefferences we have the essential audio and midi settings.. which are actually not really preferences..they are your hard and software setup,..basics that allow the program to work..not really option there.. just one settig fits..
same applies to controler templates ..than we have the registration stuff that offers you to buy some plug ins or add "live prestet packs"..
and finaly we have some real user prefferences that alter and optimize the program for your workflow after your choice and preference..

I came out here because this bit me today and I was hoping the gurus around here knew of a solution. I'm a bit stunned that this is still a problem 4 years later. Sonar has always let you use your undo history after a save, as does Photoshop. The undo list is only kept as long as the app is running - so there is no need to keep massive undo lists with the project.

I replaced a bunch of clips in the session view because I had color coded them wrong and didn't realize they were different clips. Saved my work, and then noticed the problem. Lots of time lost over a simple little thing... :/

Agreed. It should be possible.

How much space would an undo file (or version history system) take up, compared to Live's factory library which I never use?
