Exactly my point. Better yet, write your own music or score from scratch. Composition is a dying art.

Loops don't have to be used as loops, you know.

I'll often set up a basic drum loop and jam real live guitar, bass, keys and whatever else over that for 15 minutes or more. I take those recordings, slice out the good parts, store them in clips then jam the clips to create a rough arrangement. I redo the drums to match the arrangement, add vocals, etc. and then fine tune it all.

It's actually a way to create "composed" pieces out of pure jamming. The end result doesn't sound like it was built out of loops at all.

All that said, I do use loops for "real" drums because I can't record drums very well at home.
