wow i will so mod this script for my bcf2000 (or make a bcf preset to match this script cc assign)
thanks for sharing

does this script talks back to the device or do i need to add that (since the bcf has moving faders and infinite encoders with led rings, it will be really usefull as a mixer

For talkback / feedback, you might want to take a look at the APC or Livid instruments scripts.

For full visual feedback without needing to look at the computer screen or touch the mouse, you might want to take a look at Maschine.

first i wont buy machines, simply cause i already have 2 apc and a bcf plus a real groovebox

i just want the faders to move, that part i think will simply work as they are CC

but leds are sent using notes and velocity, while the bcf will receive the value of the controller to update the LEDs, i may need a translator (another one)

but all these points are pretty moot since live blocks after 1000 scenes, i might just go buy a used mc 909 or a brand new machinedrum or octotrack

You don't have to buy the machines, you can use the scripts for these machines as inspiration for your own script.

That's really the way it works. Midi mapping always overrides the mapping from the script(s)

Sorry to bump this old thread. I just got MPD-26 and mess around with it. The script is awsome, but the fader have conflict with knob, i have to adjust the value of the knob.

My idea is just copy original preset for Live (preset 1) to 2nd preset and change all the pad (in 2nd preset) to 2A channel (with same value). Therefore I have 128 (64x2) pad, and i think i can use up to 30 preset (and get 30x64 = 1920 pad) and change the pad with different channel.

now, is it possible that from redbox script we can get 4x2 box and use the rest 4x2 to another things? Record button (arm) for example.

my other question, what the purpose of "program change" button, and how to use it with ableton live?

I do not understand everything you are saying, but to answer your two questions:
- It is possible to assign the pads in groups of 4x2, but I guess it would be quite inconvenient to work this way. If you have some time on your hands, you could try to dive into the script and change it.
- What the program button does should be described in the MPD manual. If I'm correct, it does not send MIDI, so you cannot use it to control Ableton.

Running the script on a MPD24 after upgrading the firmware and changing the CC assignments. Moving the box with transport buttons, triggering clips with pads, and faders auto-mapping to the redbox's four tracks are all working.

I would love to have the MPD24's knobs automap to macros for selected "blue-hand" racks. Currently, I can't figure out how to have the 8 knobs automap. I've tried loading the stock Ableton MPD24 script at the same time operating the redbox script. Tried assigning different CCs to the knobs. Oddly enough I can get four of the eight knobs to automap with both scripts running. There seems to be conflict with fader assignments. I don't think enabling two scripts for the same midi controller is going to be a solution here but I've tried working in this manner.

Anyone using their knobs for macros with the redbox script?

I'd love an edited/updated script! Anyone up for it?

I'm really sorry to say that I cannot give support for this script anymore. I really think it can be a great start for someone who wants to update it / change it / improve it. I will be happy to add links to new versions of the script in the original post.

a few people mentioned having issues with the transport buttons being unable to move the redbox. I'm having the same issue.

Did anyone get it sorted out??
I've got Live 9 installed too and the red box isn't even showing up.

I'm running:
Live 8.2.6
osx 10.8.2
MPD26

Hey!
So I've made a version of a MPD24 RedBox script for Live 9 thanks to the updated decompiled library and scripts I found here : http://forum.djtechtools.com/showthread.php?t=68845.

I tried commenting the code as much as possible but if you have a question please go on and ask me :)

Here is the script, I'll try to upload a video ASAP

PS: there are two version of the script in the archive: a commented one and a uncommented one. The real script is the uncommented version, I separated the two because the comments created weird indentation problems
