i hope once they do the 64 bit, they ll make an own automatic bridge, so if you just drag in a 32 bit plugin it ll bridge it without any nonsense or 3rd party plugs.

Yeah i'm sure they will, I just hope you'll be able to mix 32 and 64 bit vst's on the same track.

I've just bought Windows 7 to upgrade/regrade my xp pro XPS Dell, with all the other bell's and whistles contributed by the usual suspects, NI, Camel Audio, Cakewalk, Rod Pappen, Izotope, Lin Plug, etc etc.
And yes, you can +1 me also, for thinking, things would be 64bt by now, because I'm just a hobbiest so you pro's out there must wondering why the 'stand off'.
Time is moving on in the O/S world as well..Steady..
See you in a week or so's time when I'm re authoring live, What should I do?

99% of my crashes are because of memory usage. Some of my piano patches from East West Play are about 2GB! Try adding a 50pc string set with round robin and articulations. CRASH! Man I didn't even add the percussions yet! As a programmer, I know it takes a lot more effort to push a DAW into 64bit, but most of it is code formality. Besides thats why we pay for Live and constantly upgrade...we want the company to move forward. Give me a reason to get my entire entourage to leave Pro Tools. As awesome as live is now. Those ram issues will only embarrass my recommendations.

As innovative and ground-breaking as Ableton has always been it's unusual that they are so late to arrive at the 64-bit dance. Hopefully they're hard at work on it and 64-bit Live is right around the corner. I can only hope so--can't wait to run Omnisphere and Trilian in Live in their full 64-bit glory!

This is only my second post to the Ableton forum. Just wanted to reinforce the importance of moving to a 64-bit version of Ableton. Almost all of my plugs are now 64-bit and the host (Ableton) is becoming a handicap. Since I rarely post, I think that it highlights the depth of the problem that this is creating for us end-users. Ableton should consider this priority 1 for their company before it begins to erode their current and future customer base.

I'm certain that Ableton is well aware there will be a mass exodus if Live 9 is a 32 bit-only program. The only question in my mind is: How many people will have abandoned Ableton Live by the time 9 is finally ready?

Personally, I have no plans to abandon Live even if it remains 32 bit. As the post at the link below points out, Live is unique and incredibly powerful (if somewhat difficult to grasp all of its capabilities at first), especially for live music applications:

However, for individuals who mostly need a typical DAW host for studio work, there may be a temptation to look at a traditional DAW that is native 64 bit.

Awesome idea !!!
Put it in the feature wishlists and hope they see it

I have over 50 Ableton Live projects that will be tied down until Ableton provides 64bit. They all use East West plugins along with Live's creative techniques. I know I'm not the only one using premium sound libraries. One pianos abut 2.5 gigs easily! Don't make me use Logic!

What two or three users would that be? Come on, stop your psycho tricks..
