Antipodean antipathies

Hate to start a PC/Mac style flame here but Smelbourne is a Dump!! Have lived in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney ... and, for my money, the latter wins hands down. Interestingly M claims to be the most "European" of Oz cities, going so far as to hilariously append "the Paris of the South" to it's over-inflated claims, but Sydney is firmly an Australian city, having its own independent character divorced from "Old World" pretensions (really friendly people too, despite the bluster from the South). Brisburg, not as big as S&M, has a more comfortable provincial charm, a developing sophistication and the advantage of being a lot cheaper place to live. Try before you buy!
