The apps are getting very tasty. It's hard to resist.
Somehow, in our weird time period, lame white males now think they're hip and underground by using Windows. It's their way of feeling like they're rebelling against the man, from the sanctity of their computer chairs, as if they're out in the streets throwing molotov cocktails at Apple cops who are iTasering innocent potential computer buyers before they can make it through the door to WalMart.
If he had given the same advice to someone to purchase a more powerful $1000 windows laptop over a $500 laptop, or expensive monitors over cheaper ones, he'd be proud of himself.

Interesting.... thanks
Re: Would you recommend an iPad v1?
Skrew it
I'll just buy Maschine to feed my gearlust for now, and get an iPad-2 in a few months when the next generation iPad knocks down the second-hand price.
There's so much cool new stuff out there right now.

What do you mean by this '
Are you happy that this is the case? or do you know something different?
Can you please elaborate.
Thank you
Re: Would you recommend an iPad v1?
I read it as "just get an iPad and be happy"...
Either that or it was a postmodern expression of exasperation at the fickle procrastination of the original poster.
Or both.

Be advised that the power that the iPad 2 supplies to external devices has been reduced to 10mA. So some controllers like the nano series may not work without a USB hub.

I suppose he wanted to express his happyness that we can provide the same experience on either device
Seriously though: during testing with the ipad2 it showed that it is capable of much higher performance than the first gen.. And as time passes apps will start to make use of this! If i had to choose now i'd save a little and get the ipad2 - even though we will of course keep supporting the ipad 1!

IMO the iPad is an inevitible purchase, just a handy household appliance. it changed the way friends of mine look at their smart phone, the phone apps become less important.
dunno if I'd use it for music since I try to not make synth music anymore. a big ass guitar tuner could be handy though, every tuner out there is so damn small.
then add the new Ivy Bridge Intel architecture... it's a good time for toys and it's only getting better.

I might even dust off my Strat and start bangin some chords/riffs out again.
Re: Would you recommend an iPad v1?
then there's Amplitube for iPhone, cool jam toy. take a lightweight electric guitar to the beach/park, look up tabs over the interweb while streaming the song via Rhpsody, etc.
just a tuner? that's retarded, even for an Aussie.

Re: Would you recommend an iPad v1?
Oooooh.....
The way I read it, you were the one considering getting one of these for a guitar tuner.
But I may have been mistaken, because I'm retarded.
In fact, I'm so retarded, I'm thinking of buying 2 iPads.
BTW, while I'm taking bait, I must admit that the "Aussie Aussie Aussie" chant does make us all sound retarded.
Very similar to the "USA! USA! USA!"
What can I say? Humans are retards.
