We cannot yet publicly give a release date or list of new features - I assure you, this forum will know as soon as either of those are available. Thanks for your patience! my life has reached a point where i confidently can say that i would like to see Ableton Live 9 released rather soon.
I have my money but i have nobody to sell me Ableton 9. This is 2011 and we live in a developed western society, this should not happen. I could understand if we were in 3rd world country, where all the Ableton developers would have left the country because of a war, but this is not the case. We have almost every week riots somewhere, food prices keep rising, fear of nuclear war in Middle East. I think it is justified to ask for a release date or feature list.
You touch people's lives, sometimes twist them and turn them, Ableton.

invest the money in a high interest savings account, by the time Live 9 comes out you'll be a winner!

In other words, this note was originally posted in December, 2009, more than a year and a half ago.

Since then, Ableton has been working on lots of new stuff: Improvements and revisions to Max for Live, Serato Bridge, and lots of bug fixes.

I have no idea when Live 9 is going to come out, but I do know one thing for certain: Summer NAMM starts July 21. If Ableton is going to make any major announcements, that's when they'll do it.

They do it with Logic all the time. The first anyone hears of a new version, I can get in my car immediately, drive 5 minutes to the Apple store and buy it right then and there.

Headquest - I don't remember what thread it was in, but Ableton_David confirmed they are working on Live 9 already.

I have it on good authority that it will arrive on December 20th 2012. This means you'll have one day to play with it before the world ends.

I have 99% no issue with Live 8, it works fine. My experience with errors is more on use of cheap or bad programmed 3rd party stuff. Often cracked copys crash at use (for me thats ok ). Ok, M4L needs a big improvement.

I own the suite and ni komplete and it works well together.

Everybody should make music first and explore all possibilitys of live, i really like Live8. Your music is related to you and your experience & imagination not software and thousand features. Everbody has to improve/enhance musical knowledge. That's my point.

When I got a new laptop a few months ago, I called to ask about installation and authorizing Live on two machines. I asked if Live 9 was going to be 64bit. The gentleman said they were programming in 64 bit, but he didn't know if it would be introduced as an update for Live 8, new for Live 9, or an update for Live 9. So they are working on Live 9.

Just a guess but I'd say late 2010 at the earliest, either in the couple months before Christmas or early next year, even spring 2012.

Anybody remember what time of year previous versions have been released?
