Maschine users - tell me about your workflow?

After about two years of going back and forth, I bought Maschine yesterday and should be here next week. I bought the edu version but the guy told me on the phone that they're discontinuing the edu version for some reason?

Anyone heard of this?

With the coming of machine mikro, it doesn't leave much room for price cutting.

So I went and re-read some of your workflows and now I'm cubicle excited (i.e. I'm sitting at my desk thinking of ways to use maschine and ableton)

Now I'm thinking out loud

If I can use my original workflow but skip maschine's crappy sequencer by utilizing the midi file drag and drop.

This way I can incorporate my APC20 back into the mix.

Maschine will be a groove production piece and Ableton will still be the sequencer.

Okay, weak sauce - when you drag and drop midi to ableton the automation DOES NOT come with it

But this is the bomb though - I need a USB hub for my APC20

Maybe someone over here can help me with this problem

I posted this on the NI forum as well:

I make a drum beat on maschine. I drag and drop the midi file into Ableton and it's playing back on midi channel 1 to trigger the sounds in Group A. I delete the midi notes in maschine so i wont hear them twice.

Now I want to build some more patterns on maschine with a different group. While playing back my dragged and dropped midi file.

When I press record on maschine, midi channel 1 (Group A) records the midi notes I dragged and dropped into Ableton, causing the beats to play twice.

I don't want this to happen. Does anyone have a work around to this problem?
