CAPABILITY TO RECORD PARAMETER AUTOMATIONS WITHIN A CLIP IN SESSION VIEW!!!!!!!!
yeah, thats a big one ... would make writing so much more efficent ..

These are mostly dj oriented:
. analysis file with multiple clips support (that's a MUST for djing)
. crossfader curve adjustment
. indepent tempo and transport for separate tracks
. tempo & transport control from timecoded vinyl for separate tracks
. video tracks (not only playback, I would love some video synthesis going on in Live!)
. midi signal send for clip launch button status led (for lighting on status leds on a controller)... really don't know if this is already possible cause I didn't made my controller yet
. native dual display support
. a same midi control (or key) shared for multiples parameters with scripting for making each parameter react different to the same control (reverse, log or lineal response...)
. dB numbers in audio meters
. loop start point different from clip start point
. loop offset scripting (or follow action)
. loop offset external control
. on/off switch and presets for clip envelopes
. "playing speed" or "reverse clip" envelope
. a simple chronometer with elapsed / remaining (in case we specify a duration for our gig)
. 64-bit support
. multitrack rendering
. coffee cup holder
Cheers,

I haven't read through the entire thread but it looks like there are a lot of good suggestions here. Here is one I didn't notice yet:
A Midi random plugin that affects time rather than pitch. It could actually be 2 separate plugins: one that generates random Midi notes with settings for note length, probability, density, etc. and another plugin that does a random shift to the existing Midi notes in the clip. It would have similar settings and would be able to shift notes forward and back in time based on a grid (16th note, 32nd note, etc) or by even smaller increments to add "slop" to a quantized midi clip.
Theoretically then you could add the Random note and random pitch plugins to a Midi track and get a stream of random notes without having any midi data in the clip.
And here's another vote for recording automation into clip envelopes.

OT: MIDI randomizing
For lots of MIDI randomization possibilites, you might want to check out Numerology at five12.commelocoton wrote:I haven't read through the entire thread but it looks like there are a lot of good suggestions here. Here is one I didn't notice yet:

My wishes are basic, in order of importance, all essential:
1. PDC
2. Proper track solo (so that a bus when solo'd also plays those channels routed into it, and a channel when solo'd also plays the bus it is routed to)
3. Proper groove quantize (plus better midi editing?)
would be nice:
Auto Note preview in MIDI editor.
Better file browsing
Drag and drop from Live to Battery (is this possible???)

Re: OT: MIDI randomizing
Yep, I have Numerology and it's pretty nice but I don't really enjoy using multiple applications. What's so difficult about a simple random note plugin to add to the current random pitch plugin?velocipede wrote:For lots of MIDI randomization possibilites, you might want to check out Numerology at five12.com
