^ Yeah it will, none of this is a surprise, but it's much different to go out as a legend rather than to go out as a pain in the ass like he did the first time.
As long as the OS is great for audio then I'm not that affected by whether or not Jobs is there. My contention is that Apple even without Jobs wooed Digidesign, MOTU and others into their camp, and Apple with Jobs in a lessor role will continue to woo audio and video types. Now it's very possible that they lose some of the design coolness, but again that was a guy Jobs hired who also has people he works with, a whole team that makes Apple design... anyway it's easy to forget that even with someone like Jobs, the genius of a CEO is in the people he surrounds himself with, so the effect of that will take years to wear off if it ever does.

I have a theory. For Steve running Apple is a 24/7/365 job. So this past Sunday he went to take a 15 minute power nap but woke up 4 hours later and went “Shit! I’m blowing my job responsibilities. I have shamed myself and the company. I must resign!”
OK, maybe not that extreme but I do think that Steve feels working a sane amount of hours is for pussies and those who aren’t dedicated. So if he’s no longer capable of being the obsessive workhorse he once was then he doesn’t want to half ass it, half ass only by Steve’s standards.
Somewhere between that and 6 months left to live lies the truth.
That’s my theory right there.

The guy is obviously very ill. If you've seen that "Icon Ambulance" article (
here), you'll know that this guy never took time off. He'd never step back while he could continue to run Apple.
I feel sorry for him in a way.
Bill Graham once said something along the lines of : the upcoming always have hope, they can look at the shit the world gives them and say "some day I will make it, and all this crap will go away. They have the luxury of hope and it keeps them going. However the successful have already achieved everything they ever wanted, they no longer have the luxury of hope."(paraphrasing)
I think Steve has now run out of hope. So I feel sorry for him.

Christ, and this is just for when he's stepping down.
I think we'd better start a fund on this forum, because some of you will require counseling when the unthinkable happens.
Can you show on the doll where he inspired you?

It will be The Day That Dare Not Speak It's Name.

Of course he will die within five years, assuming that this is a real photo.

sadly that is a real photo, the photo agency confirmed it. A few people were trying to say it was photoshop, but just wishful thinking really.
I was hoping it was faked as I don't like seeing anybody like that. He looks at deaths door there.
An email from a representative at Pacific Coast News, the agency credited with providing the photos to TMZ, states: "These have not been doctored in anyway, I can assure you, regardless what you may have read online."
It's up to you if you want to maybe take the image down from your post and provide a link instead (for those who really want to see it), personally that image haunted me after I saw it. I'm guessing a month or so until he's off the mortal coil

Jobs will not let Apple fail while he is still alive. As Chairman he won't have day to day responsibilities but can and will influence the strategic direction of the company and it's products.

I think failure is out of the question. It's more of a matter of how much profit they stand to make. I'd be pretty sure that the infrastructure is already in place to keep them making loads of money for the next couple of decades, not including of course, other potential income streams. Plus I hear he hires pretty smart people.

Two decades after that moment of epiphany, could he imagine working anywhere else now? Ive laughs, but his answer is emphatic. "No."
i know Macs have Time Machine but does it work at this level of complexity?
