put it in top quality mode (divine) and try modulating the cutoff with high resonance and some noise... you will see some cpu use!

That's what I thought at first, but soon realized that no, as soon as you try to use it as a polysynth, the cpu is mental. playing chords with two hands will glitch out Live or Studio One on my 2.2 Ghz i7 macbook pro. I don't even use the best settings. I find "fast" to be good enough, which the 2nd lowest (Draft>Fast>Great>Devine).

Suggestion for CPU: Resample your patches and create Simple/Sampler instruments. Might be a bit of work, but could do the trick. Alternatively, use the sampler instrument creator found in samplers like DirectWave that sample your synths and create low-cpu sample machines. http://www.image-line.com/documents/directwave.html

You can also use Highlife to sample-freeze the Diva:

You could do that but you lose a lot of what's good about it - The tweakability and dynamics of it. I'd prefer to create the passages and freeze myself but to each their won.

Urs says it's performance issues..
but I think it's really important feature for all of his modulars..
and would raise the 'value' of his synths (at least imo)

this is probably correct. i think his head was in a different place then as well. he had a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. he seems to get a little upset when folks bring it up as a question, so i don't. i figure he's just going to stay where he feels comfortable and that's dealing with synths. however, mfm2, filterscape, uhbiks and zebrify are all pretty awesome (especially zebrify). so when he said he was thinking about doing it i think everyone started to think omg, he's going to do something really special, again.

oh well. it's just one of many disappointments that we deal with. funny thing is that for about a year, to a year and a half, i was hoping that uhbik-x, rob papen's sound design dvd and a tutorial on additive synthesis from camel audio would materialize. none did. all of which coming from the companies that i hold in the highest regard. still do really. it's just disappointing is all i can say.

This synth is just amazing! Has blown every other VA out the water in terms of sound and ease of use. (for me)

Sure the cpu is a bit high, and the lfo's might not be mappable. I'm sure if you write to them, it can be implemented. And there is nothing saying you can't record to audio and move the little knob with your mouse.

Otherwise this synth will most certainly replace all my other VA's or at least they be used way less.

I'm a big fan of 80's, nu disco, and italio disco sounds/style and this thing nails it soooooo well. The envelops are so damn nice, and it just seems to sound how i've always wanted a VA to sound.

I love analog hardware, but anymore it's just to expensive for me to get my hands on. This looks like it might be able to replace my need/want for a juno 60 and undecided mono synth. I never really get too excited about plugins, but this shit is just pure win!

P.S. I wont sleep tonight because of Diva

I couldn't give less of a shit about analog emulation or authenticity or any of it, but man - this thing sounds FANTASTIC

So easy to dial in amazing sounds

I think one of my favorite features is the "trimmers" section that automatically randomizes VCO detune so you get some of the unpredictability of a real instrument, but always within reason

Pity I don't have even $120 to drop on it and probably won't for the foreseeable future, because I'd surely be buying this one

I won't be missing my Korg MS-20 anymore (I sold my legacy collection trying to trim down) with this around. Does such a great MS-20 but with filter FM too. Love it. Time to break out the MS-20 controller again. Only this time it'll sound authentic.
