This might give some idea. There are going to be 7 rows like this. The scratches are on the foil that is protecting the semi-transparent perspex. And on the picture the light colours wash out a bit due to overexposure in the camera.

All the LEDs are built in now, and I did some good testing. Your Max-application works really well! The response of the LEDs is immediate to the MIDI; only flashing 63 channels at once gives some problems, but that may well be in the Orgautomatech64. Well, anyway, that's not too important. Important is that all LEDs work.

I still have to finish the inside of the box which will take me at least another week. After that I'll do some programming of interesting light patterns. So far, I'm really happy with the result.
I'll put it in a little vid and show it here. By the way, on the pictures the colours look much more washed out than they are in reality.

Your time working on this is well spent! I am going to have a lot of fun with your application!

By the way: is there a possibility to record a MIDI-clip with the MIDI-messages after the multi-note-out-device? I bet there is; have to find out how..
