ableton should worry about fruity loops not bitwig
Re: ableton should worry about fruity loops not bitwig
Ableton should worry about Ableton.. first and foremost..
something has gone terribly wrong in the last 2 versions of Live..
to me ...Live always felt SOLID.. it's the main reason I chose it over other tools..
sure you had to do with many workarounds... less tracks...
but it felt like handling hardware..not software..
that's not the case today.. live is quite unpredictable...
and although it crashes a lot less than the initial release.. there are still MAJOR issues unaddressed to this day.
Lives' reputation is on a downward spiral..
if Live 9 doesn't cut it.. that would be really bad for them..and us

it's that thing Gehard wheres around his neck what's it called, not a tie or a scarf but you know the one mr howl wore on giligans island?
anyway that's the problem, Live is wearing one of those things too and it needs to take it off

I think you're thinking of an ascot. It's not already part of your ensemble?

I believe its a cravat, but anyway, maybe everyone else needs to worry about Live 9. No one knows wht's going to be in it for sure and with the new iPad coming up, rumoured to have quad core processing etc, could ableton is just biding its time for the iPads to be able to handle live properly.
Me personally, I really like Live. I enjoy using it and even though I've been using it for about 3 years, I'm still learning new things about it. I really don't think I've even scratched the surface of what can be done with it.
I used Fl in the past, and for me, compared to Live, its got some very good points, but Live feels more fluid. Its not as instantly accessible and instantly rewarding as FL, but I'm getting more out of Live every day.
Maybe Live isn't just a life style, but also a way of thinking
Anyway, enough postulating. Time for lunch and then more Music theory homework

Ableton should have enough cash on hand to really make live 9 great. If they don't then it will be a bad future for the company. They realize that and i am sure are doing their best. Since the beta is continuing it is a good sign that they are not worried about what other companies are doing and just keeping the goal of their best update yet.grooverb wrote:No one knows wht's going to be in it for sure and with the new iPad coming up, rumoured to have quad core processing etc, could ableton is just biding its time for the iPads to be able to handle live properly.
Ipad are still toys (really fun ones). I think that tossing a bunch of heavy instances of kontakt and reaktor is going to make an ipad cry. Let third parties worry about the toys and they just need to focus on the software.
If they dumb down their product like adobe just did they could generate cash, but if they focus on that then high end users will move on. Just like high end apple users are complaining about at the moment that apple is only worried about itoys and not pro users.
In a K induced Haze (the old K kind not the special K kind ), but an Asian spizz can sometimes bring me out! If ya don't get it, ya never will.
