Mate, I was gonna post that and forgot. I got Kick 2 a couple of weeks ago and freaking love it. It's flipping amazing. You got it?
Yup. I also have used Kick 1 and Big Kick. Kind of funny how even something seemingly simple can still follow “You think that is a kick plugin?? THIS is a kick plugin!” competition and improvements. Kick 3 is going to blow our mind!

So, did any of you already try
Ultrakick?

Lots of suggestions.
Ok its simple if the kick is louder than everything else its going to punch. As soon as other sounds build up the overall RMS goes up an the peaks go down.
NY compression doesnt make stuff punchier it just retains the natural transients, not so much use in electronic I find (my preference). Using side chaining (or if lazy use Kickstart) can help as it ducks the bass. I've heard about cutting the bass frequency on the bass and adding it to the kick. I'm not a fan of cutting bass frequencies too much as it can create less punch but ymmv.
Not disputing some of the ideas on here (all good). Just don't ignore balance being the main trick here. I use a bus compressor as it helps me know when the kicks doing its stuff, I see the kick move the meter the most and that right there is your punch.
I use KSHMR kicks - they are very punchy!

The problem is there are so many variables to try to take into consideration, including the OP's definition of "punchy," that it's pretty much impossible to give any decent advice. But given that the initial steps taken were to basically keep turning it up until it's peaking, I'd suggest watching some youtube videos on general mixing/mastering ideas before worrying about whether or not something like NY compression is a good idea.
