actually panning is what I do when I use my over the ear phones which are beyer 770s and sony 7506s but my extremely not so special mic (rhodes nt2) pics up every freakin signal in the vicinity , the shures are the only thing it won't pick up

The only reason that Logitech is involved with these ear monitors is because they purchased the company "Ultimate Ears" a few years ago. The Logitech name has no bearing on the quality.

I personally own a pair of Ultimate Ears custom earphones. They were the less-expensive model which cost me about $550 if I remember correctly. I have owned them since 2005, and use them almost every single day at the gym. The sound quality is the best I have ever heard for any earphones, and the external sound rejection is very good. I'm not sure whether or not they would be good for music production monitoring, though.
