There are a couple of nasty problems I am experiencing in Ableton Live with all 2CAudio plug-ins (haven't tested B2 yet). Both problems are related to parameters and automation.
Problem 1
When you clear the button "Back to Arrangement view" and you are in the Arrangement view, then hit the Play button, normally the "Back to arrangement" will never be lit until you make some changes to the arrangement (change midi notes, envelopes, cut/paste audio/midi on any of the tracks). When Aether/Breeze effects are loaded into one or more tracks, the "Back to arrangement" will always lit up when playing the arrangement containing Aether/Breeze plug-ins, as if I had changed their parameters manually while playing the arrangement, which is false! This is a very nasty bug, which has never been fixed. Automation with these plug-ins, therefore, is not usable, as Live treats it as if you manually edited parameters of Aether or Breeze by hand, so any curve programming for any parameters in the arrangement simply doesn't work....
Problem 2
Have a look at the image with Aether AU loaded into one of the tracks below (pic 1).
In this example I tried to configure Aether parameters for automation. Unfortunately, as it seems, I cannot configure more than 4 parameters in the Live device view because only 4 parameters can fit. Aether reverb plug-in definitely counts more parameters for automation, so why not report all assignable parameters to host on load by default? Like it happens with some plug-ins from other vendors, they report their parameters to the host and as the result we have everything we need configurable as shown in the sample picture below (pic 2):
In the second example I added Bluecat's Protector AU plug-in to the same track and immediately, as you can see, it gives access to automate all possible parameters, unlike Aether.
Ableton Live 8.3.4
Mac OS X 10.7.4
Can this PLEASE be solved in the near future please?
Thanks,
Andrejs

Hi Andrejs,
I have both Aether & Breeze, and do not have any issues as you have described above.
RE your issue 1, I do not have this problem. Have you got clip automation on some of these parameters ?
Re issue 2, if I keep clicking on Aether parameters, they keep popping up in the configure window...and I mean everything is assignable.
I am on pc, windows 7. Live 8.3.4.
Hope it works out for you.

i don't have either of those issues either, Aether/Breeze/B2 AU/VST, Mac OS X 10.7.4, Live 8.2.8...
btw, if your second issue is solely to do with the parameters not immediately being displayed when you load the plug-in, that is Live's default behaviour when any device has a lot of configurable parameters. when a device has a small number of parameters, Live displays them automatically.

Hello all,
I've posted a video on YouTube demonstrating the issue #1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l12xLxLUzNQ
Once I click stop, the "Back to arrangement" button lids up, although I haven't touched any parameters for Aether.
Seems like I can no longer reproduce the issue #2, so: "The one who hasn't been caught isn't a thief!".

just tested again in 8.3.4, and i have the same bug when using the AU version of Aether or Breeze, when automation exists for either plug. B2 AU is fine though.

I don't have this problem in OSX with the VSTs. Sounds like it's an audio unit issue. Have you sent a bug report to 2caudio, they are pretty responsive to bugs.

oops, forget to mention that Aether/Breeze VSTs are fine here too.

Yes, I've sent this bug report about a year ago.

Yes, but apparently their priority was to develop the new product. I still hope to see this automation bug fixed.
I'll use VST version for now, thanks guys for pointing at that!
Cheers,

Just to confirm that bug exists with Aether/Breeze VST as well and it has not been fixed. Last Aether update is from 2010..
Just try to add some automation on Dry/Wet button in one of your tracks, for example, and watch "Back to arrangement" button lit up whenever you simply hit arrangement play button. Also, no matter which effects and automation you use on the track where Aether/Breeze is located, Ableton will always select Aether/Breeze automation after hitting play button. So annoying I can't believe this hasn't been fixed!
