Jumping on this thread a little late.... but found something that isn't written
about here....

Just been using it today on my bass guitar sound, as I was starting to get
too many pluggins on it and latency was begining to become a problem. So
I cleared up some of the amp sim and EQ by using this instead..... Sounds
wonderful.... Truely a dream to use too.

I've heard Adam suggest their "TrackPlug" as being really handy too (EQ +
Compression) however for my bass nothing is beating this MultiDynamics
compressor.

Also.... Has adjustable look-ahead much like Compressor II..... and uses
around 6% to 8% CPU on my AMD 1800+ (1.6gHz).

Most pro mastering engineers consider multi-comps more of a surgical tool used to fix something really wrong in a mix. They generally just use a really really nice single band compressor and eq to do their work.

This is not quite accurate. Mastering engineers will use Multiband compression either hardware or software.
