It's an open beta.

No, it's not.
You have to get a slot.
And I can't get one at the moment as I don't have a LIve 8 license...

I use Ableton almost exclusively as a DAW.

Interesting. What led to you choosing Live as a DAW?

- 'Upgrading' from FL Studio
- Reccommendations
- Price - damn sight cheaper than Cubase, especially with the education discount.

This is incorrect. jBridge is the official solution. Live 9 will not have a built in bridge.
And (not being an apologist OR whiner!), but which other DAWs (other than current FL) have a built in bit bridge? I personally did want to see a built in bridge, but oh well, it's far from a deal-breaker since there is a quick/easy solution already. Actually the bit-bridge issue for me is much like the issue of a lack of an "Export MP3" option. They would both be very nice to have, but small, quick other programs do the job just as well, and they don't affect any actual music work.

Logic and Reaper have it. I dont know about cubase.
I found Jbridge for Mac clunky. My comments on this are posted earlier. This wouldnt bother me for theodd synth or whatever that gets left out, but almost every major reverb plug except for Altiverb is still 32 bit. So having o use jbridgeon mission critical things blows. The Devs claim to find it really hard to port to 64 for Mac so someone has to step up and make something more seamless than Jbridge and which doesnt cost over $200 like Vienna.
This is one case where a standard should be established and adopted by Mac as well. Now that were even seeing 86 bit stuff emerge (i've only seen it on Audio damage, so maybe they're kidding) we cant go through this shit again. All the people that cant figure out how to keep up and port, and all the Daws that dont want to build something from scratch, should all get together and share code on this and have it reside on the daw side and be future proof at least up to 86 or whatever the step up from that will be.

FL Studio, also, provide this bit-bridge
free of charge.

well, included within the standard price... there isn't a FL without bitbridge to compare prices with

Guys, buy FLStudio for the bridge and use the FLStudio VST in Live 8 and bridge the hell out of your plugins.
There won't be an inbuild bridge. Get over it.

Any users of FL Studio prior to v10 would have received it as a free upgrade. So yes, there is nothing to compare it to, because if you're an existing user, it is free.

And there you go.
There is a solution, you refuse to accept it, and dog MAJOR requests like Session Automation in favor of yet another feature that's capable of being solved with a plug in that costs less than $50.
Yet it's everyone else that's being unreasonable......

Umm, wouldn't it be cheaper to purchase JBridge vs FL Studio? By maybe %50? Anyways, not to add fuel to the fire but there is an alternative to purchase and use should you feel the need to do this. So you have a choice, purchase and use, or complain that the abes haven't put it into Live 9. I can live without it or spend a bit more cash and get it. I am just not too thrilled with update cost to Live 9 personnaly but that's a different thread.
