They will sell a lot.
And for good reason.
That sums it up.
Resisting the Push
Re: Resisting the Push
I think I will stay with my Launchpad and upgrade to Live 9 ...ljd2002 wrote:Push looks (and probably is) fantastic. But I think both Push and Live/Suite 9 are going to have a hard time persuading existing owners to upgrade.
I just feel that something's got to give - and Live 9/Push, may just be where I take a break from upgrading for a while and enjoy what I have.
in addition to that, I am not sure if I will update my suite Version, ' cause Lives Plugins do not really appeal to me, compared to Vsts like Zebra, Omnisphere, Massive ...
nethertheless I am still owner and user of M4l from the last update/upgrade cycle,
so why should I upgrade to Suite and Push
Setup: Ableton L12, Push3, Max9, Novation LC,
Re: Resisting the Push
Totally going to jump on that piece. My APC40 is taking a crap on me, not because it's built poorly, but because I've treated it like shit and traveled with it extensively. I'm surprised it lasted for about 4 years I believe?
I think Push will actually lend itself to live performances better than the APC40. You could easily pair it up with a Evolution UC-33, Berhringer BCF2000 (motorized faders), Vestax VCM-600, etc... Yes, Push and a VCM-600 would be soooo tits!
While I don't think it will make me write better songs I do think that it will speed up workflow tremendously, or help get into "the zone" and possibly that will assist in making better compositions. After you set up a template (but you can do that all on the fly anyways) and being able to completely step away from the computer, I don't see how that wouldn't be an advantage in putting more emotion into a track.

Re: Resisting the Push
Yes I will buy Push. I will buy two push.
I use Ableton live. It is my instrument. In a band.
We formed ages ago. Just me on the MPC with my pal, who's a bassist. We sucked. A lot. My MPC was an old, crusty thing that I actually found in the trash. His bass was a no-name something that eventually broke.
Over the years we've been improving our instruments and systems. Currently, we have three people. That one guy on bass, a new dude on guitar and synth, and me on vocal and other shit. Other shit of course being a launchpad, a midi keyboard, and Live 8. We have a really cool sound. But we're always sort of overshadowed by the monitor in the corner. I think push will really help. If I can really completely turn my monitor off and make music with just the push, kind of like maschine, I'll be so happy. You have no idea. And yes, I'm already crafting evil schemes about what can be done with two of them. >:3
