How can you be posting on the forum if you're busy recording videos for us?

I think it would be helpful to explain the differences. Etween the 8 and 9 browser, especially if you use alot of your own custom content. It could be pretty confusing for alot of people, I think.

Going over the difference between modulation and automation would be helpful as well.

I've been given permission to do this, I am not sure who else has and I'd check up with the men and woman upstairs if you have any doubt.
I got the go the thumbs up as well.

As Tom is an official Ableton guru, the way I read his original post was that Ableton have given him the go-ahead to do an Ableton-approved Live 9 features/bells & whistles preview video from his perspective. He is kindly asking if we had anything specific we would like covered in his video, which is pretty cool and inclusive I thought!
:D
What I meant is
"are other beta testers allowed to do the same?
From now on are people allowed to discuss Live9 outside beta forum?"
yes. Ableton gave us the go ahead to make "review" type videos, but not for full training videos yet as there still could be changes. Having said that, this is from a certified trainer email, so I'm not sure that applies to all beta users. You should check with them if you're wanting to make a video.

We have still been asked to include a disclaimer that it is not final.

what do you mean exactly? Dennis showed it off in the launch event video in case you haven't seen it, but did you mean that you want more examples of where it does/doesn't work?

Put simply, the "harmony" function is not a miracle worker and I've found it to only really be useful for a single polyphonic instrument - like playing chords in with a guitar because you're not a keyboard player. Even an acoustic guitar miked up I found it to be really unpredictable and not that useful.. I found it worked best when plugging in an electric. In this case I found it very useful.

I spent a lot of time messing around with different sources.

other than that, drums to MIDI works pretty well. Harmony to MIDI was okay, but not perfect. I recorded in hummed basslines that were like pretty basic depeche mode type single note arpeggiated type things and it would slur notes together etc....

Just showing how all the different sources respond would be a whole video in itself really as it takes a lot of time if you want to try different things.

All in all it's mainly intended for recording in a vocal idea like Dennis showed, and chords on guitar or other polyphonic single instrument as I said. You can certainly experiment with different sources and get some interesting results, but you need to spend a lot of time messing around with it.

I have the Live9 beta, and I'm watching your video, Tom. Heck, I've messed with the program and I still enjoy watching it. Though I think it's time to get back to work, you know, since I'm currently at work.. :D I'm going to finish the rest up at home. Great job.
