this is the key. it means i cannot use live for 90% of the world's music. period. and i would like to.

I'm having a hard time understanding this. Do live's algorithms really sound that bad when warped to the tempo of the actual clip? (meaning there is very very little warping happening anyway)

Also loops for unwarped material is as easy as Cmd D in arrange view, and follow actions in session view.

That said, I had trouble yesterday trying to loop a sound that was supposed to have a length of 27 4 3 (as given by live). I just couldn't type those values into the corresponding fields in follow action because they were automatically rounded up or down. With Live 8.3.4...
