monitors vs headphones

i'm happy with my sony mdr-v600 headphones, but if you're recording music you want to monitor with monitors, not headphones. headphones are good for djing and listening to music for the sake of it and trimming audio files and the like, but if you want to hear what your music actually sounds like if you're a producer and you're mixing it, eqing it, etc, you want to hear it on monitors not headphones. headphones should't be used for mixing and eqing your music you're recording cos it will not be acccurate. andrew
