There was also a huge wank fest on my Facebook feed. It's annoying considering that 98 percent of people are like "who's Ceephax?" or "Sepalcure?" As if everyone doesn't already know the new BoC album is coming out there's going to be endless circle jerks about it until it does. Meanwhile people sleep through the entire witch house genre and Power Glove isn't even signed to a label. This kid asked me the other day who I was excited to see at Movement. I said "The Bug, Squarepusher and some others." He had never heard of The Bug nor Squarepusher but was excited about Noisia. Noisia is sweet but you've never even heard of Squarepusher??? Most fools don't even know who Luke Vibert is. So, yeah. The cream fest over the new BoC is a little annoying. And Daft Punk? Great, but I had that orgasm at least 15 years ago. Meanwhile 80's tunes are getting played on the classic rock station. People are just brainwashed IMsuperHO.

Yeah but most don't care, they just want to fit in. Hang in there, buddy!
I'm a little embarrassed not having known who Ceephax was, and imo it's an injustice Vibert isn't as well known as Squarepusher.
"Heard of wagon Christ?", "Maybe, sounds familiar, Ninja Tune?", "Yup, how About Amen Andrews and Spac Hand Luke?", "Huh?" Grrrr.
IT'S NOT RIGHT
I dunno, I put Vibert up there with Tobin. Apples and Oranges musically, stylistically, methodically, etc, but having their own special big worlds....

THUG-yeah man, im 38, im about 10 years past caring about whether my music taste makes me look cool or not.
BEATS-sorry bro. i think i was involved in 2 of the B.O.C. threads. :D but for those of us who dig B.O.C., a new album IS pretty exciting.
as far as the B.O.C. vs. talented unknown producers/musicians, i mean, i think that liking B.O.C. or just B.O.C.'s hype, doesn't necessarily take away from unknowns.

i get where you are coming from THUG, it's just, not everyone was lucky enough to say, be into B.O.C. 10 years ago or have heard of the list of names you posted up. some of these more known bands such as B.O.C. and SQUAREPUSHER etc. serve as gateway music for people who are looking for something more than what they are being served. you should relax a bit about it, and realize that you had a little more foresight than a lot of other people. your taste from 10 years ago, is now being justified.
when it is all said and done, its all just music, it's not really a competition, as to who liked what band first....at least not in my eyes. we like what we like, even if it is a few years late.

Yeah, I'm just having a bad day. This is pretty much how the world has always worked. I'm kind of pissed about this marketing campaign though. As if these guys don't already get enough attention.
