It is just the demonstration that all your music, rockstars, popstars, "trasgressive" performers etc. are just a branch if the propaganda machine. Apart, maybe, Frank Zappa, who infact was banned/censored. The rest of them are just government's puppets, I guess they have to wear those ridiculous and sad american flag dresses as a contract or something. Not to mention the omnipresent flags in their video, very embarassing. You call it "american culture", I call it war propaganda.

Frank Zappa was a CIA Mole

In the early 60s and 70s, in a time of daisy chains, free love, psychedelics and desert dwelling cult leaders, Laurel Canyon in California played host to the peace loving hippies of the era. It was also the place where rebel guitarist Frank Zappa met his untimely death from cancer.

Zappa is considered a musical legend to many, but conspiracy theorists believe he could’ve been a key component of an undercover operation ran by the CIA to infiltrate and control the hippie movement.

It’s been proven that the CIA were conducting terrifying mind controlling experiments under the guise of the infamous MK-ULTRA operations around that time. Frank Zappa’s dad was a chemical warfare specialist who’d been assigned to Edgewood Arsenal, a base that is said to have been heavily involved with MK-ULTRA. Zappa grew up on various US air bases and installations, immersing himself in the peace and love movement the best he could, whilst his dad worked on classified science for the military.

The story goes that Frank Zappa was groomed throughout his life by the CIA to become a double agent of the hippy movement, pulling people from it for Manchurian candidate style operations and exploring the prospects of mind control. Whilst it does seem far-fetched, all of the icons of that era seem to have come from wealthy rightwing families and are in some way involved with US intelligence – even Jim Morrison’s dad was a high-ranking naval officer.
