well "american idiocy" is something known everywhere. Not "americans" idiocy. American. In Italy when something is dumb, cheesy, rude, tasteless etc. we call it "americanata" (meaning "it sounds like a american thing"). It is not "racism". It is because 90% of american comedies, movies, songs etc. are dumb and very stupid, kitsch, cheesy or rude/violent. America, being a sort of brand new "Roman Empire" exports all this idiocy (in america you call it "industry").
