Re: Russel Brand On Revolution
In my opinion much more than "nearly half the world's population are sympathetic to socialism", because at least 80-90% of the population worldwide are actually socialist. That is why the U.S. are so scared about socialism and spend 400 millions dollars a year for imperialistic war and have this massive brainwashing antisocialist war propaganda. The so called "third world" is just a consequence of U.S. wars. That is why in the rest of the world the U.S. are hated and considered by everyone "the new nazi". Because they disrespect every international law, U.N. rules, commiting war crimes and crimes against humanity, spreading atrocities and grief, war and injustice everywhere. It's called "capitalism". If it wasn't for the bloody U.S. imperialistic and expansionistic war policy, socialism would be alive and kicking. Unfortunatelly, as soon as a socialist revolution starts in some land, the U.S. invades it and starts terrorism. See South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East... Everywhere. The U.S. are the most dangerous and criminal nazicapitalistic organisation in human history ever. A real obstacle for peace. Unfortunatelly, 80-90% of american population are brainwashed by massive war propaganda, so they don't even realize what U.S. really are. I hope african americans will start a socialist revolution in America. They are the only ones able to do it. I mean: not Obama
I mean real african american socialists (the ones who usually get killed by the CIA and are FBI wanted... the so-called "terrorists"
).
Re: Russel Brand On Revolution
I agree with this statement. Comedians and entertainers have a long history of giving socialism a bad name. Then again, most socialists have a similar history. At least Brand is mildly entertaining.myrnova wrote:Russell Brand, Britain’s reluctant Beppe Grillo![]()
This guy is a (lame) copycat of an italian comedian called "Beppe Grillo" which organized "revolutions" through the slogan "fuck off" (in italian: "vaffanculo": "V day") using the "V for Vendetta" logo ("V" in italy stands for "fuck off") and nowadays has a populistic party called "5 stars movement" which has 25% of votes in Italy. In my opinion Grillo is a pseudofascist, like Marie Le Pen in France (even if disguised as a "liberator" with solutions in his program that remind a leftish program). Russel Brand on the contrary is just fake and ridicolous, he (badly) imitates Grillo and the "interview" is clearly staged. As far as I know, the most important thing about him is that he was Kety Perry's husband or smthHe is as "revolutionar" and "anarchist" as my potatoes in the garden (with a dfference: my potatoes are useful).

The BBC did a huge global opinion poll in 2009, surveying 29,000 people across 27 countries.
More than 29,000 people in 27 countries were questioned. In only two countries, the United States and Pakistan, did more than one in five people feel that capitalism works well as it stands.
Almost a quarter - 23% of those who responded - feel it is fatally flawed. That is the view of 43% in France, 38% in Mexico and 35% in Brazil.
And there is very strong support around the world for governments to distribute wealth more evenly. That is backed by majorities in 22 of the 27 countries

Great video. Russel Brand is great, though I don't like how he gives off the impression that he's constantly trying to 1 up whoever he is conversing with, he constantly uses big, technical words that are really sometimes unnecessary and in fact just make it appear as though he's rambling.
Re: Russel Brand On Revolution
A lot of his humour is derived from the contrast he creates between his immature screen persona and the occasional glimmer, no matter how fleeting, of intelligence that he is able to throw our way. It's a rather cheap technique, which becomes rather dull all too fast, but you've got to love him for trying.ObiKaNobi wrote:Great video. After all, the government caused him to take lots of drugs when he was younger, so he's a victim.

Infact I am not referring to nations, but of course to people. I don't believe in "nations", for me it is just an excuse for wars. They did like that in Italy, too, as soon as they realized the partisans could build a socialist society. They bombed all italian cities, controlled the government with puppet politicians, after the war the CIA terrorized the population with bombs in trains, squares, banks etc. They ordered our government to introduce a massive pro-usa propaganda, through movies, radio, tv etc. in order to make people think they "liberated us". You could easily reverse those numbers and be believable, but even then Socialism has never existed for any length of time on it's own, there's elements of capitalism and/or military dictatorships mixed in for fun and profit. Mostly the West has social democracies with a capitalist economic structure. Not socialist, but a bit better than the states, that's all. Pro tip, because you have universal health care in no way makes your owning class magically disappear. 90% 0f what you say about the USA is true about Italy, and you can't see it.

Re: Russel Brand On Revolution
The part in bold is why you're an idiot. I could agree with a lot of what you say, IMO the US foreign policy has always been geared towards extreme cold war insanity, but the people are simply people, and mostly they're unaware of the ruthlessness of the covert military operations that we've done, but extremists like you and the whole 911 inside job crowd make the average person ignore the real facts.myrnova wrote: Infact I am not referring to nations, but of course to people. My relatives recently were in Italy, not one person was rude or expressed your level of hatred, it's you and only you that cannot separate the government of a nation from the people.
There is dead silence on the part of this forum in support of your "cause" because you come across like a bigot, and anytime you get this pointed out, (that you not only attack the politics of the USA but the people), you assume that it's because people are brainwashed etc. etc. The truth is you're a prejudiced xenophobic narcissist, that's what bothers people, not the politics, it's the "Americans who don't like me" rants, the constant euro-nationalistic pitch. You're really lucky that the Abletons haven't banned you, because you go well beyond dislike of the US war machine right into strait 'ethnic' hatred.
