Everything you've heard about Burning Man happens there. But there is so much going on all over the place that each of the things you heard about amounts to a small, tiny part of the overall experience. If your friend said that they did item X the entire time, that could tell the story of one individual at the event but nobody else had the exact same experience at the event. Other individuals m8ght have had similar experiences, but overall I'd say that experiences vary greatly.

Yes, there is a lot of purchasing of stuff to get there and then be anti establishment, whi h seems backward, but the event is more of a social experiment than an economic experiment so the price is worth it.

As a social experiment, a person is unlikely t9 get it from watching a movie or being on site for the weekend. A full week of participation, im my opinion, is the way to go.

Attending was one of the best things Ive ever done (and worst which becames best becuase of learning). I highly recommend that you go. Tickets go on sale soon.

The essence of the experience, I feel, is a birthright.

That one must pony up big bucks to a corporate brand to have that experience is symptomatic of how fucked our world is.

Therein lies the paradox I discovered in my experience, and why I now consider myself post-Burner.
