Wow, you guys must be the reason the term fanboyz was coined...
But go on, protect that company you gave your money to from complaints from those pesky meanies who dare to have some higher standards and expectations than you.

le sigh
I'm not a fanboy, I bought something it does what it says on the tin, that is all. Its not about standards, its about you wanting stuff that they never promised and stomping your feet when you dont get it.

LOL

I am not defending the company, I am just pointing the logical step to take in your case as an insatisfied costumer: Sell the product, recoup your invesment and move on in to something that can really fit your needs.

There is simply one problem with you: you expect functionality that was not advertised and the company has no obligation to provide anything beyond what is advertised.

I don't know what happens to people like you but I normally only buy stuff if it suits my needs and know I would be satisfied as it is. Do you buy a car expecting it to be upgraded?

You are an irresponsible consumer giving money to companies that don't meet your expectations at the time of your purchase.

It's amazing how well we apparently know each other. You know with all the things you conclude about me just from the few lines in which I state my plans to sell Push if certain conditions aren't met soon.
I mean it's not like software updates are a mythical thing, like unicorns or peace on earth somehow. You know companies, other than Ableton, actually have them ;-)

The people you meet on the internet....amazing

It's blooming gorgeous, it really is. But boy, does it feel half baked when I'm browsing. They shoulda hired Stray a long time ago.

I've hacked this together, it's not perfect and Mac-only (unless you fancy adapting it for Windows) but makes life with Push a lot more enjoyable for me! viewtopic.php?f=55&t=210152

Nice work tom_d, I've sort of adapted my workflow to deal with the way push is and I'm on a "make music don't f*** with shit" run right now. I'll give it a go if I find some time to mess with things though.

Heh, I hear you - I could do with getting on one of those runs too ;)

Yeah sometimes it's good to just get down to business and remember why you got into all of this crazy technology in the first place :). Luckily your mucking around is pretty fruitful for you "and" others so thanks for that ;)

I see our usual antagonist is hard at work here

I'm disappointed in the complete lack in development of push since I bought mine. I've kinda given up though.....just use it how it works.

So you agree with me, but still feel you must take a dig at me?! Days later, I might add.

And you call me the antagonist

I dont believe anyone here feels that they are owed something from ableton because they invested in push. To say so is to miss the reasons behind the discontent. Ableton have effectively allowed themselves to be upstaged by another developer, the script(s) that native kontrol released soon after push release showed what was possible and probably skewed peoples thinking (did mine) as to what was achievable and how quickly it could be implemented.

Also when I compare my experiences and involvement with beta development for ableton and native kontrol
all i can say here is that i have seen mine and others ideas shape the development of pxt scripts while opinions and ideas offered to ableton for all i know have been cast into a pit.

Native kontrol beta user. "Wouldn't it be great if push could do .....?"
Stray "Done" or "Not possible, not what NK wants to implement."

Compare

Ableton beta user[\b] "Wouldn't it be great if push could do .....?"
Ableton[\b] ......"Please keep making these great suggestions. We are not implementing any of them but we are listening."

So okay stray is an exception and also native kontrol a small company able to adapt and move quicker but this is the fact as i see it; had there been no native kontrol we here would be relying on the output from the creative (but currently technically hampered max developers) and likely less dissatisfied with ableton as there would be nothing greater to compare to.

Out of the box push is great, both conceptually and in practice but if two entire scripts can be developed and sold do u not think this proves that push's default functionality can be improved.

Happy that folks are happy with their purchase but blind support or attacking folks that have invested time and effort to(potentially) improve push is bs and shortsighted.

I think the one dude from PXT said that he was working with abe's?

@namm: It hasn't been exciting for years. It's all about old bands, old ugly hookers, wearing badges and talking about a product you already knew about

I agree with this, but TomV attitude was something of "I am going to sell push if they dont come out with a MIDI editor" as if it made any difference, which by the way is one request I truly believe is not going to be implemented ever, and not a priority for the majority of users as for example using the touchstrip as modwheel. I just think TomV shouldn't have gotten Push in the first place, since it didn't met his expectations, instead of whining cause Ableton doesn't give him what he wants.

I am happy with Push as it is and I will be happier if it's updated. I have more hopes now that Stray is in the house, the sole fact that he has been hired by Abes gives me hope and some confidence on Push future.

I think it is more reasonable to skip buying the product until the needed functionality is there that getting the product and then selling it because it doesnt meet the expectations.

So me saying I will sell Push if they don't release a midi editor is irrelevant whining, but you wasting post after post on psychoanalyzing my motives is somehow.....

Yeah, tell me what is that you are actually doing here?! Sticking up for your only friend? A software company?! Acting out unreturned man love for me?!
