argh, had a gig this evening, didn't check mail til just now, got the beta invite on the 18th and of course the beta is chock full. I woulda played Live 5 with it, live, been the first on my block, maybe even the first on my tectonic plate... yeh, just thrown caution to the wind... I woulda trotted it out, maybe played it big... but instead, a one way ticket to publicbetaville. :(

 you guys find a few bugs for me ... *cawfff* *sputter* ... i'll be alright, no really, go on...

Post by poshook » Mon Jun 20, 2005 3:49 pm

When the signal on Master track is overload, whole level meters change their colour to red.

Ok ableton needs to fix their email servers... the same sh*% keeps happening.

I just now got the newsletter... and it was sent 2 days ago.
No other mail takes this long so it's not my end.

Didn't even receive the e-mail from Ableton - despite having been subscribed to the newsletter for ages.

Have a gig on 1 July where I could have been able to do all sorts of things had I had the Beta (assuming it was stable enough). Will have to hope they open it wider soon - but I doubt that will be soon enough...

I never got the mail either... but I am paranoid, so I checked the News section and voila! Beta, baby!

The Abs released The 4 Beta an a Friday Night (U.S. time), so i figured they would do it again... they must love working on the weekend.
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.

BETA

Post by Captain Screwbarb » Mon Jun 20, 2005 9:27 pm

So, I'm curious, if I participated in the first Beta, am I allowed to do Beta 2, 3 etc, or will they be only for people who didn't particpate in the first beta?

it depends on how much you got involved in the beta testing.
they look at your post count, and they keep the best 100, and then the next 50 for the next beta, and so on.
there should be only one beta tester for the last version, and he gets a free copy of Live5.
that's how it was last year.

oh, and by the way it was 6pm when the beta was dropped. That's not too bad.
I don't think so, available to people registered to the newsletter. (check the posts from the bug section, I doubt these are registered users )

the beta may have been dropped @6PM but the newsletter was sent @ 8PM,
on a saturday night. Now I understand why most people disagreed with some griefs some users had with the live side of live as opposed to the DAW side. Everyone's at home !

well, you needed a valid Live serial number to get a copy of the beta.
and i think most ppl didn't wait to receive the newsletter to download the beta...

And Plogue Bidule announced a beta at exactly the same time...
I'm frustrated, and happy...
And you know what, I seriously may be paying for Operator later this evening (depending of how blurred of beer my mind might get...)
