...i tried to set up the ranges so that they cover the whole 127 steps but without success...maybe you don't see the behaviour because you've mapped the on/off via the multimapper device since i also don't have it when i select the instruments when the chain selector macro is mapped to a knob (on my nanokontrol) via midi or when i turn the macro with my mouse...

…just tested it and guess what?…it's the same behaviour i have with my racks: when selecting the instruments via mouse it works flawless, with push the first step of the chain always opens the instrument in status "off", e.g. in your set step 42 opens the "swept organ pad" in "off", from 43 onwards it's "on"…i reported that to ableton support…it will be interesting to see what say about it…

Indeed, same behavior here, strange... I didn't noticed it before because i always selected a higher value. Keep us updated when they answer you

I have a chain selector set up this way, to turn instruments on and off as I scroll. It works, EXCEPT I get audio drops when performing live when I scroll to another instrument. Can anyone explain this?

Hope it's alright that I'm bumping this thread. I was following the instructions here and they worked almost flawlessly. The only flaw being that it sometimes seems to be generating ghost notes that I can't turn off when I switch back and forth between a couple instruments. Obviously they don't generate noise while off, but when the chain is selected and they're on: ghost notes. ~spooky~

There's no midi signal going through, so I can't flush the signal and get the sound to stop...

Ideas?

Ya, I'm still getting that same Push bug. It works fine with mouse and arrow keys but everything doesn't work when scrolling chain selectors with the Push knob. Ideas?

@Caligula Cuddles ...4 years on but I think I can answer your question! I think what you're hearing is the audio output "tail" of a chain that was deselected when you selected another one. It seems as if the chain's processing goes dormant until the chain is reselected, when it picks up exactly where it left off.
This seems a rather undesirable architectural quirk to me, and it feels like there ought to be a way to silence deselected chains "properly", but there it is.
Since the tails are retained, I'm trying to work out whether there might be a way to delay the muting of deselected chains, to let them play out.

By the way, regarding the muting or turning off of chains or devices, does anyone know whether mapping the chain's "speaker" control to the chain selector is as effective at reducing the processing demands of deselected chains as mapping the device on/off button(s)?
